Kay's P.O.V
1 day to go.
1 day until I meet my soulmate.
1 day until my life will change forever, and hopefully for the best.
I found myself thinking yet again, laying in bed, just like the other times, until I was interrupted.
"Kay! Come downstairs! Breakfast is ready!" My mom yelled to me.
My mom, unlike other people, knew everything about me. I mean, obviously, because she's my mom, she would know quite a lot, but she is like a best friend to me. I tell her all of the things that are going on with my life, something most teenage girls my age don't do. While most teens would hide their love life from their parents, my mom knows EVERYTHING about it.
I walked downstairs, greeting Rob and Connor before stepping into the kitchen, the smell of pancakes filling my nose.
"Hi mom." I say, trying to start a conversation.
"Hi Kay," she replies, "How many days left now?"
"Only one day, mom. This is so crazy."
"I wouldn't know, hun. I didn't have one. I just met Rob out of fate. We didn't have this cool technology when I was in the womb," she laughs. She always knows how to make someone smile.
"How did I get this mom?" I ask, pointing to the countdown/tracker on my wrist, the one that will determine my fate in only 1 day.
"When I was 5 months pregnant with you, they informed me about the tracker. They told me I don't have to get it done, but most parents were doing it. Oh who am I kidding, EVERYONE was doing it. They told me it wouldn't affect your health or hurt you in any way, so I decided to go for it and-"
"Oh that's cool," I interrupt.
"Shh, I am not done. Anyway, they had to get an I.V through me, one that would lead down to you, the little baby in the womb. Once again, crazy technology. Once they got it down to you, they told me you it wouldn't come onto your wrist until you were about 14, and now here we are. You have one day until you meet your soulmate, and you are 18 years old. It is all so bittersweet," she finished.
I was astonished, the technology we have today is wild.
"Anyway, how far away is he, Kay?" She asked.
"2 miles." I replied, hopefully he doesn't come closer.
"Be careful Kayleigh, you do not want to meet him too early, even though there is one day to go." she warned. She was always protective, and making sure I was making the right decisions. I was thankful, because I am young and dumb and she always makes sure I am following the right path.
One more day. One more day until the concert, one more day until I will meet the love of my life.
Calum's P.O.V
It was 10 a.m.
Today marks one more day.
One more day until the concert..
One more day until I meet my soulmate.
The nerves are really getting to me. I don't even know who she is, and she doesn't know who I am. What if we don't hit it off right away? I know we are going to stuck with each other for the rest of our lives, no matter what, but i don't want things to be awkward from the start. I need goals. Goals for when I meet her.
#1: don't mess up
#2: don't mess up
#3: don't be stupid
#4: DON'T MESS UP
In the middle of thinking, I am called downstairs by my mother, Joy.
I walk down to the table, only to be met with the eyes of my sister Mali, my dad, David, and my mom.
And all of them knew about my countdown.
"How many more days?" My mom asks.
"Yeah, how many?" My dad soon adds on.
"TELL US." Mali says eagerly, all of them looking at me with desperate eyes, waiting for me to answer them.
"Okay, calm down. One more day."
"WOAH THERE IS ONE MORE DAY UNTIL YOUR CONCERT TOO!" Mali replies almost instantly, once again with eagerness in her voice.
"Yeah, hopefully it will be at the concert when I meet her. Otherwise, it will be some random meeting in the street." I reply, scratching the back of my neck nervously.
"I'm sure she will be lovely, Calum. Make sure we meet her when the time comes." My mom says, a smile forming on her face.
"We better meet her!" And there goes Mali again...
"You will, you definitely will." I say, starting to feel more confident about the whole "meeting the love of my life" thing.
Just one more day.
I only have to wait one more day.
The day I have been waiting for my whole life, is tomorrow.
Lets hope this turns out okay.
A/n hiiiiiii i tried to make this one a little bit longer. Next chapter is a HUGE chapter. I don't know if I am rushing into things because i went from 7 days to 3 days to 1 day, so this fanfiction might be a bit short. BUT there most likely be a sequel. ANYYWAYYY.
Im gonna introduce myself because no one really knows who I am except for the people at my school who are reading this
Hi Haley and Leah
Anyway, I am Kailye(pronounced the same way as Kayleigh, hense why I picked the name.) you might be wondering why I didn't just use my name. Well, there is a reasonable explanation for that.
I wanted to use a spelling that was more common, so all of the Kayleigh/Kaylees out there, I did this for you. I almost wrote a fanfiction about myself..
Anyway, thanks for reading, make sure you vote and add this to your reading list or library and tell your friends about this bc why not.
xx
