Chaos

Rosalie and I were silent as we cleaned Bella up. We cleaned her body of any and all blood, we washed and brushed her hair, and we discarded her old bloody clothes. We dressed her in the blue dress I'd seen in my visions and laid her gently on a table.

The days leading up to her reawakening were eerily quiet, save for the cooing directed at Renesmee. I'd made sure Bree and Jasper had hunted and sated their hunger before letting them meet their niece. Renesmee liked Bree and Rosalie the most so far, mostly because neither seemed to be able to leave the rapidly growing child alone.

And then, after days of hearing Bella's sporadic heartbeat, it stopped completely. Jasper grabbed my hand, sharing a look with me as Bella's heart stopped. It could only mean that her transition was over, and that she would wake up soon. Edward raced upstairs to wait, eager to bring his mate into her new life.

"Her transition will be the nicest one out of all of ours." Jasper commented, running his thumb over my knuckles.

"She'll have the most support." I added, smiling softly at him.

"They're back." Jacob commented, rushing out the door to greet Bella. He wanted to make sure Bella would be alright with him before she was close to Renesmee.

"She's going to be fine, Jacob." I said, rolling my eyes at the werewolf. When he returned, he headed straight for Renesmee, and the family gathered around the rapidly growing child. Jasper rested his hand on my waist, and I laid my head on his shoulder.

"You look amazing, Bella." I smiled, turning to greet my newest sister.

"Rose." Edward called, making Rosalie turn toward Bella. She smiled as she handed Renesmee over to her mother. The baby placed her hand on her mother's cheek, showing her a vision through her touch.

"What was that?" Bella asked softly.

"She showed you the first memory she has of you." Edward smiled proudly.

"Showed me?" Bella questioned. "How?"

"How do I hear thoughts?" Edward asked rhetorically. "How does Josephine see the future? She's gifted."

"I've only been out for two days?" Bella asked, her eyes leaving Renesmee momentarily.

"Her growth rate is unprecedented." Carlisle chimed in.

"All right." Jacob sounded, making me recoil into Jasper. "That's enough experimenting for one day."

"Jacob." Edward snapped. "She's doing great."

"Yeah." Jacob looked distressed. "Let's not push it though."

"What's your problem?" Bella questioned.

"Oh..." Bree trailed off, looking to Rosalie with a slight smirk.

"Do tell her Jacob." Rosalie added, looking highly amused.

"This should be good." Emmett smirked.

"Hold on a second." Edward said, gently taking Renesmee from Bella's arms.

"Look," Jacob started, slowly backing away from Bella. "It's a wolf thing."

"What's a wolf thing?" Bella demanded. I stepped away from Bella, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.

"Um, you know we have no control over it." Jacob continued. Edward passed Renesmee off to Bree, who walked to the corner of the room with Esme and Rose. "We can't choose who it happens with. And it doesn't mean what you think, Bella. I promise."
