*Flashback/Yuju POV*

After dinner with the guys, Jay suggested if we should have dessert but Namjoon and Yoseob declined as they had 'Discord' plans. Mina and Yibo were so engrossed in their conversation that it seems like they forget to eat.

"Come on now, I guess it's just the 2 of us for dessert," Jay said, breaking your train of thoughts.

You hummed in response and walk together with Jay to the ice cream cafe.

"What would you like to get?"

"Strawberry is fine. I'll go and find seats for us." you said and Jay nodded.

You looked around and saw an empty table near the window. You sat down and took out your phone to take a picture of the warm milky glow crescent moon in the sky.

Jay came back with 2 cups of ice cream and pass the strawberry flavour to you.

"Thank you!" you beamed and dig in your ice cream.

You were listening to Jay's stories when he suddenly stops talking. You tilt your head in confusion.

"Is something wrong?" you asked.

Jay takes the napkin from the table and leans forward.

"Come here," he says and motions you to lean forward as well.

You nodded and lean forward as he use the napkin to wipe ice cream from the corner of your lips. You blushed at his actions and looks at him.

"Eat slowly next time," he says and chuckles.

You nodded in embarrassment and use your hair to hide your tomato face.

After the two of you had finish your dessert, Jay offers to walk you home. You initially declined but remembered the walkway to your apartment was dark so you agreed.

"Um, Yuju?"

"Yea?" you turn to face Jay and notices that he had place both of his hands in his pocket, fidgeting.

"I know this is sudden and all. I just feel like today just confirmed what I had been feeling all along. My feelings for you," Jay said as he bites the inside of his cheeks.

You gulped and waited for him to continue.

"Ever since we became partners during class and not separating when we move another level up, I actually didn't like it but a voice kept telling me that it's fate. Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant filled with odd little waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don't always like. Even though I didn't like the idea of us always becoming partners, I've learnt to accept it."

Jay takes his hand out of his pocket and holds onto Yuju hand.

"It never occurred to me that our lives, until then so closely interwoven, is meant to be. I don't want to let go of this opportunity that is right in front of me. So Yuju, will you be my girlfriend?" Jay says as he locks his eyes with you.

Tears burns your eyes and your lower lip tremble as you hear Jay's touching words. It never occured to you that all this while the feelings that you both had is mutual. You were slowly accepting it to be unrequited love but it's not.

You took a deep breath in to prevent yourself from crying further and pull him into a tight hug.

"I don't want diamonds or the world, I just want you to hold me and call me your girl." you sniffles.

Jay smiles and caress your hair.

"I want to walk through this life with you by my side. Your hand in mine. Forever."

Wahhh I had goosebumps while writing/typing this chapter and it feels like a short episode of a K-drama HAHAH but I feel proud with the outcome of this chapter. Glad that I decided to write how they got together so there won't be any confusion!
