The Power of an Alpha

Chapter 4

        ***Sierra***
 
  The first two Alphas were easy enough to beat. Next was Aiden, my mate and he definitely wasn't going easy on me. In the end I still won, though it wasn't easy especially since I wasn't using any of my special abilities.
 
  The last Alpha was my Alpha. Alpha Jackson of the White moon pack. He controls the element fire and can communicate with all animals.
 
  You guys ready for this? I ask my wolves.
  Born ready! Charlotte said in excitement.
  Let's beat this Alpha into the ground! Jayden said enthusiastically. I definitely didn't expect such a response from him. Especially since usually he sounds and acts more ancient and calm. This was so different. Let's reclaim the Alpha title for Nicolas and Alexander.
 
  "I should say I'm surprised you've made it to this point Sierra, but I'm not. I watched you grow and prove yourself many times over the years. Your mother would be proud."
  "My mother was weak and I refuse to be weak." I spat at him. My mother abandoned me when I was young. I don't even remember her.
  "You're wrong young padawan so wrong." Jackson said. "Your mother was born of Alpha blood."
  "She was an Omega."
  "Not always and she wasn't meant to be an Omega. Her father was the Alpha and her mother was the sister of the Beta. Your mother showed great potential growing up and her little sister looked up to her in fact everyone in the pack did, much like they do with you even though you're an omega."
  "My mother couldn't have been an Alpha by blood because if she was she wouldn't have abandoned me!" I exclaimed. He has to be wrong.
  "She didn't abandon you. She died protecting you and your brother." I look to Charlie, he was only five when our mother abandoned us, I was two. He looks away from me when I meet his eyes. He knew, he knew and didn't tell me. Why?
  I dodge out of the way right before a ball of fire hits me.
  "As much as I believe you deserve the title of Alpha I can't just give it to you and therefore I'm not going easy, you must prove yourself!" Jackson yelled. I give control over to my wolves and the next fire ball he threw at me I didn't dodge instead I drew water from the air around me and and extinguished the flames in seconds. Then through a fireball back at Jackson. He dodged just in time.
  "Two elements, I'm impressed!" Jackson said with a smile on his face.
  I put my palms on the ground and look at him as the earth below his feet starts to shake. He falls to his butt and struggles to get up, but then a large bird flys in out of nowhere and snatches him up tossing Jackson onto its back. Jackson throws a fireball at me again and I manage to dodge.
  ***Aiden***
  "So this is the true power of the White Moon pack." I say to Mel in awe.
  "That's our mate down there too." She says in as much shock as I felt. Our mate is super powerful. So far we've seen her use fire, water, and earth and something tells us that's not all she can do. Seems this Alpha, Jackson I believe his name is, had the ability to control fire and animals. Which in and of itself is pretty cool. Next thing I know is a fire ball hits Sierra in the shoulder and I want to run to her to make sure she's okay, but she seems unaffected by it after about a second. Man she's a tough one that's for sure.
  "We sure got lucky." I tell Mel. She just nods in agreement.
  Sierra throws a dagger at Alpha Jackson and it hits him in the shoulder, cause him to fall from the giant bird he was on. He's tumbling to the ground and fast. He stops midair a foot from the ground. A lady emerges from the shadow as Jackson is gently lowered the rest of the way to the ground. The lady is older probably in her fifties from what I can tell. She looks to be focusing on Jackson intently. Her hands are touching both her temples. She must have been what stopped Jackson from hitting the ground.
 
  ***Sierra***
  As soon as my dagger struck Jackson he started to fall and I thought he was going to hit the ground and possibly die, but as he was a foot from the earth he stopped falling. An older woman from the pack stepped forward from the shadows and I released my wolves so they could rest for a bit, this fight wore them out. I ran towards the women who was walking towards Jackson as she lowered him to the ground.
  "Sheila!" I call out as Jackson safely makes it to the ground. He's laying there unconscious right now.
  "Congratulations dear, you deserve this win, you put yourself and your wolves through a lot just now."
  "Wait Sheila? You know?" I ask confused.
  "I had my suspicions." She said. "You see dear, there was a prophecy spoken long ago about an Omega born girl who would prove herself in youth to be stronger than an Alpha."
  "An Alpha shall fall
  For an Omega to rise
  She will fight everyday
  To become the strongest
  She will fight amongst the Ranked
  Never giving in
  She will be loved by all
  And when the day shall come
  When she must prove herself
  On the day she comes of age
  Two wolves she'll have
  To overcome the evil that awakens
  As the Omega becomes the Alpha" Sheila chanted.
  Sheila was the Elder in our pack, though she definitely didn't look it. She knows what she's talking about. She has the abilities of youth and telekinesis. Neither are great for fighting, but both are super powerful. Which is how she stopped Jackson from hitting the ground. She's surprisingly 200 years old though doesn't look a day over fifty.
  "There's no way I can be part of some prophecy." I tell her dumbfounded.
  "She's telling the truth." Charlie says as he comes up from behind me.
  "I don't want to hear anything about truth from you Charlie. You lied to me repetitively!" I shout at him.
  "Im sorry, but I promised to take care of you Seer, I promised mom."
  "So you had to lie to me about it?"
  "Look let me explain, Mom was born an Alpha and was supposed to remain as such. Then come her sixteenth birthday and her ten year old sister, Jade was kidnapped. She made the choice to forfeit her test in order to save her sister. Which resulted in her becoming an Omega. Even though she saved her sister from some Vampire." Charlie explains.
  "That doesn't explain how she died and why you told me she abandoned us."
  "It was the day of your second birthday, our father actually did abandon us by that point in time, but on your second birthday Rogues and Vampires attacked our pack and though we win in the end there were some casualties, our mom being one of those casualties. We believe they were after our mom or maybe even you. Our mom protected us with her life that night. We only survive due to Jade our moms sister. After that night no one was to speak of the attack or those who died. We still don't completely know the motive behind the attack, but in order to keep you safe I had to lie to you. I couldn't tell you our mom died." Charlie said, a tear forming in his eye. He was fighting back tears.
  "I understand you thought you were protecting me, but I don't think I can ever trust you again." At that I turn on my heal and walk away.
