You stood in the kitchen of your apartment that you lived in with your girlfriend Taylor, on the verge of tears as she yelled at you.

"You stupid, worthless, piece of shit. I can't believe I ever thought I loved you, anyone would be better than you, you little bitch," she went on for what felt like forever as you stood leaning against the counter, asking her to stop over and over.

"I wish I never met you," she screamed before walking out the front door and slamming it shut. You heard her car pull out of the driveway and you sat on the floor, crying your eyes out.

You sat up, shaking and crying. Immediately, you felt the other side of the bed, but it was empty. Swinging your legs over the edge of the bed, you shakily walked downstairs to find Taylor sitting on the couch, strumming her guitar.

She looked up at you with a smile before seeing your shaken state. Pulling you into a tight hug, she guided you both to the couch, sitting you in her lap and kissing the top of your head.

"Hey, babydoll, shh, it's okay," she whispered into your hair. You sobbed into her chest, gripping onto her shirt as if it was your lifeline. "You left me," you cried.

"I would never leave you, honey. I love you with all my heart and nobody else could even come close to you. You're so beautiful, inside and out, and you're so kind to everyone, even if they're horrible to you. You're my favourite person in the entire world, and I wouldn't ever do anything to hurt you," she reassured you.

"I love you," Taylor wiped your tears away with her thumbs. "I love you too," you smiled up at her. She picked you up bridal style and you wrapped your arms around her neck, letting her carry you up to bed.

She put you down gently before laying in bed next to you, pulling the blankets over you. You nuzzled your face into her chest, feeling her arms wrap around you, keeping you close to her.

Her warmth made you feel safe, she was a comfort for you and you were one for her. You fell asleep that night content with your life, knowing that your girlfriend would always be there for you.
