✿ 𝐇𝐀𝐙𝐄𝐋My mother and I awoke early to arrive at the wedding early. I hadn't worn something too special.
The bride wanted a white, red, and pine green themed wedding. We sat towards the front watching the bridesmaids and groomsmen walking down the aisle. Everything looked nice. I've always wanted the dream of marrying my best friend. But it seemed that I haven't found the one. At least I had that until I "ruined" it.
Speaking of the devil, he had walked down the aisle with a another woman. She had a pixie cut and had tanned skin. She looked really pretty. She gripped onto his bicep as he smiled down at her.
I've completely missed my chance of finding love. I've gotta deal with that.
After the wedding, everyone made their way to the reception. My mother guided the staff around the kitchen as I placed on an apron. People had barely stayed in the cafeteria. Most of them went straight to the dance floor. My mother caught me looking over at Xavier. He twirled the same girl around, dancing to the music.
"Go, hon. I've got the food with the rest of the staff. Go out there." She slips off my apron.
I pecked my mother's cheek before walking outside. I smiled to see the same man from yesterday dancing with his new wife. She had worn a beige satin dress that looked amazing against her light skin. Her curly hair was pulled into a bun so it wouldn't block her eyes. He gripped her waist, spinning her around. She let out a heartfelt laugh, trying to not slip out his grasp. He kissed her lips before dipping her.
I stared in awe. Everyone danced around, laughing and conversating.

I was paired with Nat. She's absolutely beautiful but I couldn't seem to overlook Hazel. She looked amazing in her red dress that hugged the curves of her body. I watched as she sat by the trees, watching everyone. I excused myself from Nat which she kindly accepted.
I snuck behind her. "Haze!" I shouted over the music, but I ended up scaring her more than anything. I apologized before sitting down.
"I thought you weren't talking to me," she grumbled, avoiding my stare. She pulled back the right side of hair behind her ear.
I don't like yelling or getting mad at Hazel. It hurt to even get mad at her yesterday. I did it because of all the emotions I held back since she left. "I'm sorry I yelled at you. I shouldn't have. I should have listened. I believe you, Haze." She still furrows her eyebrows and crosses her arms. She's always adorable with her pouts. It makes me wanna peck them.
"You're not gonna talk to me, Angel?" I asked, lying back into the bench. I see her slightly smile and shake her head. "Come on. I'll beg." I got my knee catching people's attention.
"Get up," she roughly whispered. I chuckled to myself when I feel her hit my shoulders. "Xavier, fine." I stood on my feet and held out my hand. She tilted her head, looking up at me. "Please, Haze."
She rolled her eyes and walked onto the dance floor. A man walks up to her, causing a bit of rage to ignite inside of me. He smiled causing her to grow red in the face. I rolled my eyes at his attempt to flirt. She nodded at him before turning towards me. "I've already got a partner to dance with," Hazel says, winking at me. She swayed her hips, approaching the dance floor. The man clung to her waist as he swayed to the music. Slow music began to play over the loud speakers as the firefly lights sparkled. Hazel laid into his chest which was where I drew the line. I stood up from the bench, walking towards the two.
I patted the guys shoulder before replacing him. Thank god he understood moved out the way. Hazel rolled her eyes before taking my hand. My hand found it's way around her waist.
She looked down between us. "Look at me, Haze." She was hesitant but she did and when she did it was like I fell for her all over again. Her mocha colored eyes sparkled under the lights. Her skin was soft to the touch as my hands wandered her hands and arms. "God, Hazel. You make me...." I paused before I say anything too crazy. She smiled at me, which showed off her chubby cheeks. She laid against my chest and all I could smell was her vanilla scent from her hair.
"I'm sorry again, Hazel."
"It's gonna take some time. You never really yell at me like that."
"I understand that. I'm just happy I have you in my arms," I mumbled against her forehead.
I turn to see her mother watching us. I smiled and pulled Hazel towards the Cafe. "Hey, Mrs. Amani." She smiles at the sight of us.
"Hey. Did you realize you were wrong?" She questioned me. I looked over to Hazel who had her eyes on me. "Yes, I was very wrong."
"Good. Hazel would never tarnish such a significant friendship," Mrs. Amani mentioned. I nodded my head. I felt bad knowing I've hurt Hazel so deeply.
I faced Mrs. Amani again. "What are you doing cooking when you should be dancing?"
Mrs. Amani laughed and shook her head. "I'm trying to get paid that's what."
"Come on. One dance," I suggested. She placed down the hot tray, thinking.
"Fine, one dance. But I'm going back to check on the others when I get back."
I spun both Hazel and Mrs. Amani around on the dance floor. Mrs. Amani laughed as I dipped Hazel. She gripped onto me to steady herself. I kissed her forehead, apologizing for going overboard. Soon after, it was just me and Hazel again. She slipped off her heels before stepping on my toes. We held each other and danced as the party's energy began to wither away.
