Christine Larsen has written this memoir after a lifetime of farming, mostly lived in the 20th century. Incredible changes have taken place since the day Christine and her husband Kanute made the life-altering decision to become farmers.

Today they live on their retirement farm in South Australia, on a significantly down-scaled (but still farming) enterprise. Still sowing and growing both pastures and animals, and still without the tiniest regret for the days that shaped their lives.

Christine has been a grandmother for some years now—achieving her greatest enjoyment so far in reminiscing about times and events past. This is why the first of a series of farming memoirs Christine is writing was born—dedicated to the individual farms they either worked on or owned, and created to share with those who follow – in their footsteps or not.

The initial apprenticeship in a major wheat and sheep area in Western Australia was a steep learning curve for this city couple. They believed Kanute's meager farm holiday experiences in Europe as a boy, and Christine's deep love of animals and outdoors would take them through the difficult times. They were right.

These are Christine's stories of their life and times in the rural areas of two States of Australia.
