Veronica knelt down to the boy, gently trying to shake him awake. She saw the blood gushing out, staining to concrete floor. She knew if her plan were to work, there was only one way out of this. Getting up, she walked out the door, and grabbed a first aid kit. This one was special. This kit had all the tools for Veronica to take out Jughead's bullet, then enough medicine and gauze to nurse him back to health.

Delicately, she slipped a pair of black gloves onto her hands. She grabbed scissors and cut off his shirt, pausing to admire the work the Ghoulies had done on him. Permanent scars would be left all over his body. It was perfect.

Shaking her head, Veronica came back to reality, and continued removing the bullet from Jughead's side. He would see then, just how much she truly loved him.

When Jughead woke up, it was not because he wanted to. It was because there was a light shining in his face, and his body ached for water. When the boy's eyes opened, he saw that he wasn't in the concrete room in the basement anymore. He was laying on an irresistibly soft bed, in a large room, with three windows, light pouring into the room. He was alone in the room, so for a moment, he wondered if the Ghoulies had moved him somewhere else due to his injury.

Jughead tried to sit up, but fell back in pain, groaning as he looked to his side. Dainty stitches were where the bullet used to be, and gauze securely on top of that. Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing a raven-haired girl.

"Oh good! Your awake. Here's some breakfast, pancakes and eggs, cooked by moi," Veronica smiled at the boy, who just stared at her confused.

"Veronica? Is that you?"

"Yeah, Jughead, its me. I found you two days ago, and saved you from those Ghoulies. After I removed your bullet, I took you here, to Lodge Lodge as I like to call it. I couldn't take you back to Riverdale, because the Ghoulies would kill both you and me. But don't worry, I know how to take care of you. If you trust me?"

"What? What's happening?" Jughead stares at the girl confused.

"Just....go back to sleep. We'll talk later," Veronica smiled at the boy as she watched him succumb to sleep. She placed the food on the floor and quietly closed the door behind her just as her phone rang.

"Veronica. What the hell have you just done?" Hiram Lodge yelled at her through the phone.

Veronica giggled, "Oh Daddykins, I've just saved our little project, so now I can finally get what I want."

"Mija, if the cops ever find out what you've done, it will destroy this family you hear me? Jughead Jones can never, ever return to Riverdale, so you have two options. One, make him believe he's someone else, get him a new identity and move him somewhere far, far away, or end him. Jughead Jones can no longer exist, do you hear me? I don't care how you do it, as long as its done." With those threatening words, Hiram Lodge hung up the phone, leaving Veronica in the silence. The reality of what she had to do sunk in, and Veronica just laughed. Jughead Jones didn't exist. It was going to be so easy to get everything she wanted.

Betty Cooper sat in her room, the humidity of the night crawling in. Her see-through tank top stuck to her body, highlighting every curve. Her shorts had been discarded hours ago, the blonde craving cool air on her legs. She reached over to her nightstand, grabbing her teal phone and unlocking it. She succumbed to the apps, realizing sleep was impossible. Betty opened up Instagram, but the first thing that came up was a picture on Riverdale High's account. It was a picture of Jughead Jones, scowling as always, looking extremely unhappy to be there. He was holding a book, with an open laptop sitting in front of him. The school had captioned the post, 'One year later, and our hearts are still missing you. School's not the same without you Jughead Jones.' Betty teared up at the picture, reminding herself of the night he kissed her, and was overcome with emotion. Her hopes had faded and with this post, Betty Cooper lost all hope that the boy she loved the most would ever be coming back.

Closing her phone and placing it back on the nightstand, Betty laid back down, crying herself softly to sleep. She had no idea what was about to happen, or that it would change her life forever.
