Susan's POV"Happy Birthday."
I said to myself, noticing the clock was at midnight. 19 years old.I sighed, rolling onto my back in bed. What a birthday; alone, another hotel, another hunt, nothing changed. I sighed as I looked around. I was in an old hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. I couldn't sleep.
I sat up, turning on the light and looked into the mirror that was hanging on the bathroom door. I wore shorts and a t-shirt. My string-y dirty, blonde, hair fell messily around my face, and my green eyes sparkled with tears. I sat on the edge of the bed, reaching into my bag, and pulling a picture out. It was of my dads and I. Castiel and Dean Winchester. Staring down at the photo for a few moments, I let a tear slip down my face. I missed them so much.
I looked away from the picture. It was better this way. I knew it was. They were safest without me around.
I then looked over at my phone. I picked it up. I couldn't help myself. I had to. I shakily dialed. As the phone rang I held my breath.
"Hello? Who is this?" My father's sleepy voice answered.
I took a deep breath. "Hey dad." I greeted.
I could practically hear him jolt up from bed, "Susan?!"
"Yeah. It's me." My voice was shaky. It had been almost 6 months since I last spoke to my dad, Dean.
"Where are you? Are you alright?!" My dad questioned.
"I'm fine, Dad..." I told him, a tear slipping down my cheek once again, "I just wanted to let you know I'm ok. But I have to stay away from you guys. I'm just gonna get you hurt...or worse."
"Susan, you have to let us help you. Whatever's going on we can get through it together." He said, and I could hear that his voice was practically as shaky as mine.
I felt so bad for doing this to them. I couldn't hide that I was terrified. I was a freak. I had these mind powers and sometimes I couldn't even control them. The best place for me was on the road, hunting. This way I could at least help people with my freakishness. I really wanted to see my dads though. The truth is I really wanted their help. I didn't think I could do this without them.
I took another deep breath and said, "I'm in Phoenix, Arizona, the Navajo Motel."
"Stay where you are, okay." he replied, "We'll be right there."
"Okay." I promised, "Bye." I wiped away my tears. I hung up the phone and sat back against my headboard, sighing. I shouldn't have brought them into this. It was dangerous. Nevertheless it would be great to see my parents again.
That second, they appeared at the foot of my bed. Cas must've flown here with Dean. I stared wide eyed at them both for a few seconds, just taking in the fact that they were here. I had missed them so much. I pulled them both into a crushing group hug.
"I missed you guys so much." I whispered.
"So did we." Cas replied, squeezing my shoulder.
"Where've you been, Sus'?" Dean asked, sitting down beside me on my bed.
"It's a long story." I explained, "but here's short version..." I put my hand out and focused on the lamp that was lit. Sitting nowhere near it, I moved it into the air and set it down on the ground.
Dean and Cas stared at the lamp. "But...how..." My dad, Dean, stuttered.
"And that's not even the worst of it." I explained, "My powers switch off. I can't control what crazy psychic ability I have. Sometimes I have telekinesis, sometimes I see visions, sometimes super-strength, sometimes I can get people to do whatever I want, and I have no idea why or how."
"Cas..." Dean spoke, looking over at Cas.
Cas stared at me, "Susan...I'm so sorry..." he spoke, his blue eyes filling with regret.
"What? What do you mean?" I asked.
"This is all my fault." He spoke, "I was the one watching you on your 6 month birthday..."
"You...you let a demon get to me?" I asked.
Cas nodded shamefully. "I tried to stop her..." he looked close to tears.
I put a hand on his knee, "I'm sure you did all you could, Daddy." I reassured.
"When did you realize?" Dean asked, "When did these...powers start up?"
"It was about 8 months ago, I guess." I replied.
"Sus' why didn't you just tell us. We could've helped." Dean asked.
"I didn't want to put you in danger." I replied, "because you don't even know the worst of it." I sighed, thinking back. "You see, 7 months ago..."
I sat in my room, staring out the window, when suddenly I began to feel dizzy. Flashes of images appeared. I tried to stand but dizzily fell onto my bed. I sunk into a full-fledged prophetic vision.
I saw a woman. She turned towards me. She had long, scarlet, hair. She blinked and I saw that she had demon eyes.
"Run, Susy, run." she spoke, smiling insanely.
The vision faded. I sat for a second, not knowing exactly what it was. It might've been a message sent by the demon, but it might've been a vision from the future. I'd had prophetic visions before, and that vision seemed the same as one. It was easy to say that I freaked the crap out. I didn't want a demon to get to my family. I loved them more than anything!
I looked out the window, trying to decided what had just happened. Suddenly, I've got all these strange powers, and now I have a demon stalker. Great.
"Hey there." A voice spoke, causing me to jump. I turned to see the scarlet demon from my visions walk into my room.
I immediately went for my knife in the bed stand. How did she even get up here? The walls, the floors, and the ceilings were covered with Devils traps. I lunged at her with the knife, but it just went right through her, like she wasn't even there.
"I'm afraid that knife won't help you too much, sweetie." She told me with a smirk.
"W-what?"
"I'm in your head, Susan. You can't kill me." She explained. "I just dropped by to say, hey."
With that she disappeared. Soon after this, I ran, I just ran.
-Present-
"Did you ever seen her again?" Castiel asked.
"Yeah, I see her every now and th-" Suddenly I felt really dizzy. I swooned and Dean caught me in his arms.
"Sus? Susan? Susan!" I heard their muffled voices calling.
"Dad?" Was the last thing I said before blacking out.
I awoke, confused, in a bright room.
I saw her. The scarlet demon. She smiled demonically as she turned to face me.
I screamed.
