Halo's POV"Happy Birthday."
I shot up, hitting someone in the face with my head. I was in my bed. I took a deep breath and looked around.
"Well that went smoother in my head." a man's voice said. I turned to see Andrew, rubbing his nose. He had short brown hair, hazel eyes, and a gorgeous smile. His brown hair had that weird, but adorable, bit in the front that stuck up. He had a beautiful golden tan. He was simply gorgeous in every way.
"Oh gods, sorry." I told him, chuckling slightly, "You okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine." Andy promised giving me a smirk. He looked me over, "How about you? Tell me it wasn't the same nightmare."
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, and,
took a deep breath. "It was.""Maybe you should talk to your parents about this." he suggested, pushing a strand of hair away from my face, his heartwarming eyes and kissable lips inches from mine.
" I don't know-"
"You know how demigod dreams are. They might know what it means."
"I'm not a demigod though. I'm only like 1/3 god."
"Well...actually since you parents are each half God-"
"I'm not having this argument again!" I whined, "It's too think-y for this early."
He laughed.
"Just promise you'll talk to them.""I-I," I sighed, "Alright, I promise." He could get me to do anything. I hated that.
He touched my nose, "Good." He kissed me, then got up. He had a muscular figure (a six-pack), and wore nothing but a pair of boxers. He started putting on his pants.
"Ugh. Where are you going?" I complained.
"I gotta go see your mom about the party." he explained.
"What if...I didn't have a party?" I suggested, "I mean...you could just take your pants back off and..."
He smiled, "Don't be like that, you know how your mom is. She's been planning this for months."
"I know." I sighed, "She always makes such a fuss." My mom was amazing, but large social encounters weren't exactly my thing. I'd rather sit at home and read or write.
He put on a shirt and his coat, kissing me goodbye, "I'll see you later, birthday girl." He smiled.
"I love you." I called to him as he left.
"I love you too." He promised before stepping outside.
I smiled, looking down at the ring in my finger. Sure, Andy and I already shared an apartment, but marriage seemed like a much bigger thing. Yeah, we would pretty much just keep living together, but it would be deeper and official. I loved him.
I sat up, trying to push my nightmare from my mind. It had been a recurring nightmare for the past month. Andy worried that it was some sort of message from the gods.
Pfft like the gods would message me.
As I though the words I knew them to be untrue.
I made the bed with white sheets and a beige comforter.
I really didn't want to be around a lot of people today. I was afraid my nervous uncomfortableness was going to provoke my...powers.
-------------------------------------I stood outside my house, dressed and ready for the day to come. I sat on a bench, my wavy, brown, hair falling into my face. I was to wait for my mother here. We were supposed to go pick up a wedding dress that I had on hold at a bridal shop.
I looked around taking notice to a few things; a fountain nearby, a birdbath, and a half full water bottle. Water.
No. I told myself. I couldn't. I wasn't supposed to have this power. It was wrong.
It actually didn't matter much what I thought. I was hardly getting any better at controlling it. As I noticed the fountain the water pressure began to increase. The fountain squirted water at people who walked by, the bird bath was bubbling over scaring pedestrians, and the water bottle exploded. I began to look at the people. Humans were 75% water. I was just imagining all I could do with that when-
"Halo!" I heard my mom's voice scold.
I was jolted back to sanity. The fountain and birdbath calmed. Annoyed pedestrians dried themselves off.
"What are you doing?!" My mom, Annabeth Chase, demanded.
"Sorry! I'm sorry! I couldn't help it!"
"Halo," she brushed a rouge strand of hair out of my face, "You have to be careful."
"It's so temping. I just...I can't help it."
"You have to. I don't know why or how this happened, but believe me it is not a blessing. The gods would not care to give us a gift." she told me.
"I know. I know, but..."
"What?"
"But, Dad gets to do it." I mumbled.
She sighed. "Why don't we just go your dress. Yeah?"
"Alright-" I stood, but immediately felt lightheaded and dizzy.
"Halo? Halo?!" My mom asked, but her voice sounded distant as I closed my eyes, passing out.
-----------------------------------------I awoke in a white room.
I heard someone scream.
I too gasped as I saw the cause for alarm.
Turning towards me was Queen Dirt-Face herself."G-Gaea?!" I asked.
She cackled an old, bitter laugh, "Oh yes ."
