Hey, this chapter is dedicated to NalaSonya, who I noticed every time I write is reading. I really appreciate it NalaSonya, so thanks. You're also the first person I've noticed so far to have this book in your library. Seriously, thanks.                                 ~Jocelyn~

A week went by. A week of Luke, and Jinxx.

Well, not really Jinxx. I have not talked to him.

Every one of my classes are with him. Every last damn one, and I haven't talked to him at all. It's just...he's so hot. And me, compared to him, I'm just...so not. Why would someone like that talk to someone like me?

He wouldn't, that's why.

So I stick with Luke, trying to ignore their silent, accusing glares. And I don't know if anyone else notices. I mean, is it just me? The weird emo chick imagining things?

When I ask Luke about it, it's the same answers. "He's just bad." "Just stay away from him, Riley!"

Same, same answers.

Two more weeks. It was October. People invited others to Halloween parties. Luke invited me to one. I didn't ask if he had invited Jinxx.

And seriously, even though I've never met him, he's one of the biggest people of my life. I mean, it's not like people are stepping up eagerly to be my friend. So really, he is one of my friends, whether he knows it or not.

"Hey. You're name is Riley. I've heard a lot about you." No, not the extremely gorgeous Jinxx--I wish. Just another one of Luke's friends.

I really hadn't considered Luke's life before I came here. Is that mean? Cruel? Well, I seriously didn't even think of it. I've never seen him really talk to anyone but me. Did he have friends before? Was he popular? Did he have a girlfriend? Football team? Best friend who's probably also on the football team? Did he make fun of computer geeks?

I honestly do not know.

Currently I'm at a party. Luke's Halloween party, A lot of people showed up. He probably was popular. I mean, who have I been kidding myself? People like Luke could score cheerleaders. Pretty, blonde, popular cheerleaders. What was he doing hanging around with me? A dare? A pick-on-the-new-kid-and-see-what-happenes dare?

Because that is not cool.

"Hello? Riley?"

I turned around to come face-to-face with a tall, hot guy.

Weird, huh? All the damn-he-'s-smoking guys talk to me. If this is a dare, I'm going to be pissed.

"Oh. Uh, hey, I guess," I said, mentally kicking myself. But his eyes, so fucking brown...

Focus Riley. What did he just say? Shit, what did he just say?!

"Um. What?" I asked dumbly.

"I...didn't say anything," he said smiling. Oh my God he thinks I'm a creep. Shit shit shit.

"Oh...Okay..."

He smiled and nodded. I wanted to die. I mean, I liked Luke...or atleast I think I do.

Jinxx? No, I don't know him.

And that's all the people I've talked to in this school. I may have been here a couple of weeks, but that doesn't mean shit.

You see, I'm not exactly the social butterfly.

"Hey! Riley! Riley!" yelled Luke from the other side of  the room. He was walking toward me, which...I don't know how that made me feel. When he finally reached me, he wasn't alone. Some blonde girl was basically glued to his right side. Luke nodded at the boy I'd just met.

"I see you've met Oliver."

Oliver smiled. "You pick this one up, Luke?" he gave me a look that started wuth my feet and ended at my hair. By then I was mortitfied. "She's a hottie."

The blonde girl I mentioned earlier--remember, glued to Luke's side--began to grow imapatient with the conversation. "Come on, Lukey. I don't wanna be here!"

Luke glanced at her. "Oh yeah. This is my girlfriend, Izzy. Say hey Izzy. Well, we're going to go to the living room. See ya, Riley. Oh, and Oliver."

It wasn't until a week later did I find out why Izzy wanted to leave so badly.
