Oliver was beyond nice. He had stayed with me the entire night, even though I'm sure there were places he would rather be.

"Do you need a drive home?"

"Oliver. No," I said. I thought I saw something move out of the corner of my eye, which was weird because almost anyone who wanted to be an anyone (so basically everyone) was out in the living room. Me and Oliver were in the kitchen.

Alone.

Somehow this sounded seriously intimate when I said it like that...Alone. Me. With Oliver. Alone.

I liked Oliver, and he was truthfully beyond hot, but...I don't know. It just didn't feel right.

I turned around, and a set of cold green eyes met mine. Green. Interesting.

I was drawn to the person's eyes. It was like someone had tied a rope around my waist and was pulling, whether I wanted to come or not.

I walked into the hallway leading off onto the balcony. Wait. What am I doing? Haven't I ever heard if rapists? Molesters?

Apparently not. Whatever what my mind told me to do, my body ignored it. I honestly couldn't help it. Had the person with green eyes gone left, right, or to the balcony.

Balcony.

How did I know that? I'm not sure. But it seems right. So I did.

Jinxx. I would tell you how utterly breathtaking the view was from up here...but I wasn't paying attention. The world had stopped. Nothing matters.

I couldn't see anything. But Jinxx. I couldn't feel anything. But my heart pound when it saw Jinxx. I couldn't smell anything. Well...I couldn't smell Jinxx. And I couldn't hear anything. Other than Jinxx's rough breathing, and then, weirdly enough, my own. Why was I breathing hard?

Damn. I must really like thiis guy.

Too bad he didn't know my name.

"Riley, what--what are you doing here?"

Huh. He did know my name.

:"I don't know," I said truthfully and surprisingly my voice didn't crack or anything embarrassing like that. "I--I..."

I wanted to touch him. I've never wanted to touch anyone so badly. His arm. His face. Oh my God.

He stepped toward me. "Do you know what you are, Riley?" What the hell? Whatever. He was almost nose-to-nose with me. Nothing else mattered but Jinxx.

"What am I, Jinxx?" I asked, almost dreamily. What? He was hot.

He looked at me, honestly surprised. "You--You're parents. Never told you?"

"Never told me what?" I was growing impatient. The world was starting to blur in. Jinxx got blurry. I got blurry.

"You're a...I never thought I'd have to be the one to tell you this, Riley. Ask Luke who he really is. Maybe he'll tell you. That bastard can quit the lying," he said, as his face instantly turned from blurry and messed up to sharp and totally clear. Damn, he was hot. His eyes widened, I could only imagine what I looked like. "Riley. Please don't talk to Luke. He's not...good."

He paused, and I took a second to take him in. Hair so black, it was blue. Eyes like obsidian. In a way he looked just like me. But in...dude form. Jinxx opened his mouth.

"Riley! Riley?" Oliver was waving a hand in front of my face. What? Where did Jinxx go? I looked around, but I couldn't see him.

"Where'd...where did Jinxx go?" I asked. He was just here!

"Jinxx was never here. You zoned out for a second, and...Jinxx was never here." Oliver said. He looked worried, so I tried to laugh it off.

"Oh...well...ha. Okay, I guess."

Riley.

Who said that? I didn't. Oliver didn't. I turned around.

Riley. One more thing.

Jinxx was standing in the corner of the room, staring at me. Just staring. His mouth wasn't moving, and even if it was, I was at a party. I wouldn't be able to hear him.

One more thing, Riley, he repeated. Stay away from me.

Ouch.
