March... When the firefly dandelion fluff starts to dance in the air. Once a year, all around the Clover kingdom, all of the 15-year-olds are gathered, and an awarding ceremony is held, where they received their grimoire to enhance their magic.
Today is the day... although it has only been a year, he was finally gonna reunite with his grimoire.
"WOAH! All of these are grimoires?! I wonder which one is mine?"
'Once I get my grimoire I'm sure I'll be able to use magic!' he thinks to himself giddy with excitement. But that was what he used to be, now? It's different.
He visualized his past self, who used to marvel over what magic attribute he was about to get because he promised either way he'd catch up to yuno no matter what... But with the future events he kept in mind, he knew he was bound for something else than regular magic. He stood leaning back his palms resting at the back of his head and his expression let loose.
"Hmph. I guess today's the day I become a full-fledged mage." boasts a guy with blonde hair standing over proudly with one hand on his hip.
Asta recognized that voice vaguely, but he did not dare to look to their direction and instead eavesdropped on their little conversation.
"Hey look over there," says the brunette man who stood behind the blondie motioning his finger over to asta and yuno.
"Pathetic, isn't it? They shouldn't have to give grimoire to dregs like that." he ridicules.
"You said it" replied the blond-haired man with a smirk.
"Don't tell me they're actually planning on taking the Magic Knights' entrance exam, too" he chuckles putting the nook of his finger near his mouth.
"Only nobles born with immense magical power or ties to the royal family will ever get in"
"Besides, I heard that shrimp can't even use magic!" blurted out the brunette.
"Wow... Then we need to take good care of him, he's like a national treasure since he's probably the only one in this kingdom who can't use magic." the blonde replies with a smug look implanted on his face.
Nash, upon overhearing the two, was displeased his face scrunched up in slight anger. He seemed to be the only one who dared to show honest emotion to the two.
Asta's lips curled into a thin line and his brow furrowed.
'Damn I forgot how annoying those two were when I got my grimoire, I guess its good enough that they changed their ways' asta thinks to himself,'well it's good enough that they witnessed yuno getting a 4-leaf grimoire that'll teach em' he sighs letting his shoulders relax,
he learned something from his past life, and that was he needed to be a bit patient with people like them.
Unless of course, they go overboard.
"You're surprisingly calm today, what gives? Haven't you waited for your entire life to reach up to this point?" yuno questions. It was quite a shock for him to see Asta not getting spunky over the standing at what may be the start of his journey in achieving his dream.
"Yeah but I already know once I get my grimoire, I can catch up to you now!" asta replies proudly with star eyes. Of course not that he cared but he needed something to make yuno's concern look away.
"Not a chance," yuno says boldly turning his head way from the grey-haired teen.
An old man appeared before the stand, with a huge wizard hat and a long grey-toned blue robe, he had a long white beard that lasted up to his chest, with his eyes by the looks of it, were sealed shut.
