Graduation is in a week, and both Erin and Jay have yet to announce what college they would both be attending. Everyone is expecting them to attend the same college, seeing as Jay wants to marry her. They have not been apart in almost 3 years. They were best friends growing up, they lived next door to each other and their parents were best friends as well. They were attached at the hip growing up, they were always together well at least until the last year of middle school.

Jay had become a completely different boy, his friendship with Erin was slowly slipping away. When Allie and Jay began dating, they were freshmen in high school. Their relationship caused a complete drift in Erin and Jay's friendship. They weren't even on speaking terms, Jay chose his friends over her. He didn't realize he had actually feelings for her until she started dating Adrian Johnson. He's a sophomore on the varsity team, Erin had been tutoring him and they got close. Jay started noticing her more when Adrian was showing her off, or when Erin would wear his Jersey.

So when the summer after their freshman year came around and Erin and Adrian broke up, Jay also called it quits with Allie too. Sophomore year they rebuilt their friendship and before junior year they finally gave it a real shot.

Now this brings us to Graduation week, both Jay and Erin decided to have a joint graduation party. That's when they will make their decision on where their future will begin. Jay was accepted into 4. universities and Erin was accepted into 5 universities. They both got into the same schools but the other schools where on both coast.

After finally walking across the stage to collect their diplomas it was now decision time. Jay held offers from USC, Northwestern University, NYU and UCLA. While Erin got into UCLA, Georgetown, Boston, Baylor and NYU. Everyone had their hopes when they both was accepted at UCLA, they figured they would both go and build a life together. That all changed when they gather the their family and friends and revealed their decision.

Jay decided to give a speech before giving his selection. " Firstly I wanna Thank everyone for being here, and celebrating this huge milestone in life for us. This decision was not and easy on to make, most of you know that I want to pursue an acting career, as well continue to play basketball. There's a university that allows me to do both and I am excited to share with you all my decision. I have decided to attend NYU, this was not an easy decision but it's one I am comfortable with.

As he wrapped up his speech Erin turned an looked him dead in his eyes and said "I chose the school I thought we both wanted, but I guess once again I'm second to everything else". She wiped her eyes and looked at everyone and said " Thank you all for coming, I will make this quick the school I had chosen was UCLA. I thought I was going to spend the next 4 year with my best friend but shit happens. So I will now be attending Baylor University".

After making her declaration, she yanked the promise ring off that Jay gave her and left. Both families stood by surprised at what just happened. Today was suppose to be a great day for both of them, but now it's over. Jay ran outside after her, he kept calling her name but she wouldn't respond. So he grabbed her arm and pulled her to a stop. Jay looked at and saw the tears falling down her face. "I thought we was in this together?", Erin just waited for a response. "NYU has the better theater program, I know we wanted to go to the same school but this was the best option for me." "What about us Jay?" "The first time you chose your friends over me, this time your choosing school over us. I don't think I can do this anymore." Jay started crying, "What are you saying?" Erin wiped her eyes and looked at him and said " Follow your dreams"! That would be the last day Jay would see her again.

The saying goes "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us." Hopefully the next time He sees her, he will make the right decision. That is if she gives him another opportunity.
