You read that correctly. The cold war still happened. Two ideologies opposing against one another. Each had one relic. The end of a conflict marks the beginning of another. Peace was the furthest thing away from Earth, especially with the newly found artifacts. The relics.

Both sides are in a rush to unearth more of them and gain the upper hand. Both sides would engage in proxy war until one falls. The relics were just another tool, another weapon of war, used for destruction. No more, no less.

Every story has an aesop. Every storyteller has a reason to tell their story. It maybe to pass history, pure entertainment, or even to teach a lesson. This story is no different. I have a reason and a message to tell everyone who has read this story so far.

The relic was thought to change history, did it not? Yes it did. But did it change history for better? No. Not really. It changed the situation, but not the outcome. The ending was slightly influenced, but it is similar to that of our timeline.

What conclusion can be drawn from this? You may have realized that my storytelling focused on the nations more than on the relics. And it is for good reasons. A human's actions and decisions are more important than an inanimate object. Circumstance and inanimate objects can compel, but only the human heart, mind, and hand can decide.

The thing is, the situation can influence people, but the outcome boils down to what we as humans do. Humans are responsible for what happens to the world. The world can influence us, but we humans decide the final outcome.

As the story I have told shows, even with a relic, the outcome of the war has been decided. The relic influenced the war, but they did change the future. The cold war was still going to happen and peace is nothing but a faraway dream.

The nations were collectively deciding the future of Earth. The relics changed little in the final outcome. What every leader of each nation, every person of each nation do, are what is more important.

That's why. I hope you readers will realize, that the future isn't created by nature or the world. It is paved by human hands. Don't let Earth be destroyed. As Mikhail Gorbachev once said, "We are all passengers aboard one ship, the Earth, and we must not allow it to be wrecked. There will be no second Noah's Ark."

Be careful of your actions and know that every decision you do can change the future. And never forget everyone that died in the pointless conflict we call war, from the dawn of mankind to the time of the present. Remember this lesson well, and do what you can in life to change the future for the better.

Writing all of this has been quite the journey for me. I hope that you learnt the lesson and enjoyed the story. I'll be travelling to another timeline again. Perhaps in the future, I will write another story I've seen. Until then, goodbye.
