Sighing, I slammed my finger against the dismiss button on my phone alarm. I was sort of dreading the day ahead. Kaminari was not going to make this easy on me.
Dragging myself out of bed, I threw on some comfortable clothes (an olive green shirt and pale blue jeans) and lazily brushed my teeth. I attempted to brush through my unruly hair, but eventually gave up and put a black baseball cap on. I walked down the long hallway to my best friend's room, knocking on the door. The lock clicked, the door being thrown wide open, revealing Kaminari staring me down with an intense smirk on his face.
"Ready?" I sighed with a small chuckle.
"Do I have a choice?" I asked, already knowing the answer. Kaminari rolled his eyes and grabbed my arm, pulling me inside his room and closing the door.
"I'll start off easy, alright? I wanna see this relationship actually work out. So, I gotta prepare you first," Kaminari started, looking through his rack of baseball caps before pulling off an army green one. "Here. Put this hat on instead. It draws the attention away from your eye bags and matches your shirt," he said, tossing me the hat. I raised my eyebrows and took off my hat, putting on the new one. I looked in Kaminari's desk mirror and blinked.
"Wow. You've got a sense of style, surprisingly." He laughed and gestured to his hat collection.
"I've got a hat for every outfit, so you can wear a different one everyday if you want," Kaminari said. My eyes widened as I realized exactly how many hats Kaminari had hung up.
"Dude! Why do you have so many hats? You never wear hats!" I said, filing through the assortment with my fingertips.
"I have a weird obsession with collecting hats. It's just a thing I do; not really sure why," he said, scratching the back of his neck. I nodded, partially understanding what he was saying.
"I gotta start borrowing some of these, I only have a few," I muttered.
"Oh of course! Anything belonging to me belongs to you too. Just as long as you tell me exactly what you're borrowing and where you borrowed it from so I don't freak out when I can't find it." We laughed a little at the thought. "But anyway, about (Y/n)..." I groaned, hoping he had somehow forgotten about my purpose for being in his dorm in the first place. "You ready for your first dare?"
"I guess so," I said, even though I was definitely not ready.
"I dare you to hold the door for (Y/n) whenever you see them approaching one and compliment their hair." I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes, letting it out slowly.
"I don't know if I can do that man..."
"Come on! Easy dare! You don't have to interact with them for the rest of the day afterwards, alright?" I shook my head, taking off my hat to run my hands through my hair.
"This is way more stressful than it needs to be," I said, sitting down on the floor. Kaminari sat down in front of me.
"Exactly! It's not as hard as it sounds. I'll be with you all day, so I'll point out your best opportunity. Alright?" I pursed my lips, throwing my hands up into the air and letting them drop to my sides.
"Alright! Fine! I'll do it! But I'm blaming you when I end up at the infirmary because I had an anxiety attack." Kaminari laughed, shaking his head.
"I doubt that, pretty boy. Now let's go kick some ass. Thirty more days to go!"
"Don't remind me..."
The day went by fairly quickly, and I realized that there was not a single good opportunity to hold the door for (Y/n). Kaminari noticed it too, and I hoped he was nice enough to let it slide.
