"What did you think?" Zayden rushed to steal the high chair beside the register where Landon currently was, taking orders. The older male just finished performing and it was extraordinary, as always. Zayden was extra peppy today, something Landon didn't expect.
"Of?"
"My performance, dumbass."
Landon cracked a smile and shrugged, staring down at the cup dispenser as he grabbed a disposable cup. "Average."
"Average?"
"Isn't that what I said?"
Zayden groaned and dropped his head on his crossed arms on the counter, "Why won't you just admit that you love me?"
That statement caught the smaller male off guard and he almost dropped the cup as he poured a hot liquid into it, "Wh- What?!"
Zayden burst out laughing, tipping his head back as he smacked the counter. "Jesus... chill out... I was joking!" He managed to squeeze out between laughter.
Landon rolled his eyes and turned away from Zayden, needing to focus on making this order before he got fired. Ethan was busy with another customer so he had no one to watch over his clumsy ass as Zayden threw dumb remarks at him.
"You need to shut up, Zayden." Landon rolled his eyes playfully, earning another laugh from the male.
"Aw, c'mon. I love it when you get all flustered. It's fun."
"Fun?" Landon looked up from the cup as he lidded it with an exasperated expression. He could not believe Zayden made a game out of teasing the younger male.
Zayden laughed and smirked at Landon, something Landon missed so much even though he never lost it. "So... You get off in an hour and a half."
Landon capped his sharpie and announced the customer's name as he handed it to them, since they were waiting by the counter. The barista turned back to Zayden with a bored look, "Still can't believe Ethan gave you my fucking schedule." He shot a glare to his friend, who shrugged innocently back.
Zayden kept that all-too attractive smirk on and Landon had to look away before he got caught staring. "Since we can't go to my house, I was thinking either I take you out or we chill at your place. I can meet Barista Boy Jr."
Landon scoffed and looked up from the counter to Zayden, "His name is Arthur, mind you. And you're not coming to my apartment." The young barista turned his attention to the new customer in line, asking for another hot chocolate. He nodded and grabbed another cup, since they had a policy of not re-using cups. Landon preferred making simple coffees or hot chocolate since they took less time and he had mastered hot chocolate thanks to his sister. And the male had finished with the drink within two minutes, writing the name and passing it to the woman who offered a grateful smile as she sat back down.
The place was always packed whenever Zayden performed, another thing Landon liked about the older male performing. He got great tips from generous customers and even got to see his favorite person play guitar. He knew if he asked, Zayden would be more than grateful to play for him; one-on-one. But he felt too shy to ask. Even though he had no reason to.
"Whatcha thinkin 'bout?" Zayden smiled as he rested his chin in his palm, elbow resting on the counter.
Landon glanced between the front glass doors and Zayden, "Uh- Nothing, sorry."
"It's cool if you said me. I think about you a lot." He knew exactly what he was doing. And he did it. Landon's cheeks tinted a light pink as he rolled his eyes, going to busy himself with something else. Zayden chuckled at the younger's reaction.
