Dylan POV

The large clock that hung over the steel door read 5:15 pm as adults in thick coats and armed holsters bustled around our sleeping quarters. Women and men in white lab coats were also interviewing each one of us, marking off a mental checklist. One gentleman even prepared a plaster cast for Jaanai to make it easier for her to run and fight even though Camilla and Jack are trying to make plans for her to help with transportation.

A few people, who looked like ruthless soldiers with multiple guns slung over their shoulders, were chatting away with Kadyn and Ralph as they loaded their new black holsters with lethal weapons.

Fiona was practicing throwing her knife with the boomerang feature Tate added onto it, using innocent mattresses as her targets, while Alex was working on her punching form with Hunter.

Tate sat at a small table near our bathroom in a deep conversation with Alasdair Buchanan, the white ID card placed in the middle of them.

"Sir what weapons would you like for this mission?" A deep voice emerged from the black balaclava of a soldier walking by my bunk bed.

Before I even got to reply a younger man with a dark turtleneck on and a pistol in his belt bent over and hooked a holster onto my waist.

"Uh- oh yeah thank you. Uh ok. Can I have two knives, a Glock 17M, and a H&K 416?" I massaged my temples as the two men took the weapons of their own backs and fastened them onto my body.

"That all sir?" The soldier stood tall, no trace of anxiousness or hesitation in his voice as he looked down on me.

"Uh-yeah...yeah thanks," I waved my hand as I went to walk away, but my feet waddled as I tried to get used to the weight of killing machines on my back and waist.

"Takes a bit to get used to," Ralph chuckled as he noticed me struggling to get to him and Kadyn.

They both wore tunics (heavy duty Jackets) with bullet-proof vests underneath them, but over their loose white t-shirts. Their UF Pro Striker X Combat pants helped them move easily while being protected along with Merrell MOAB Ventilator boots. Camilla gave all nine of us this outfit, I felt like I was supposed to be snowboarding somewhere.

"What do we do now?" I asked them as I finally reached them. Everyone was suited up and armed, soon enough we'll be on a helicopter flying into hell.

"I believe we are all supposed to meet in the cafeteria before we start departing..." Ralph patted my back as Kadyn gave him a nod in response to his unasked question.

"Ok guys, let's go round up in the cafeteria!" Kadyn cupped his hands to his mouth as the soldiers, doctors, and guards were exiting the place after preparing everybody.

I went to turn around to start heading there, but someone with a full head of jet black hair rammed into my shoulder as they rushed to get by me.

Jaanai POV

"Sorry Dylan, excuse me, yep excuse me, over here, coming through!" I yelled as I used my uninjured hand to push past the many men and women in heavy duty gear. I bit my lip as I tried to keep the biscuit and cereal that I ate this morning down.

All of these serious guns and outfits make my heart hurt for us, I might have grown up in captivity but I know teenagers should not be holding rifles and analyzing what their killing strategy is going to be.

I need to find Jack.

"So she'll stay with Alasdair's right hand man on the evacuation helicopter?" I could identify his voice from a mile away as I violently turned my head to the left and saw Jack talking to Camilla.
