We where escorted through a moist, and dim lit cave. The distance sound of water dripping echoed against the walls with the scraping of claws on stone to accompany it.
The group surrounding us guarded our sight, with only being able to see half of the walls and the abyss that was the ceiling. The only signs that someone else was with us way the shadows from the strange colored light emitting from small cracks in the walls.
The group stopped abruptly causing me to run into whoever was in front of me. When they didn't move I simply backed away. I looked ahead to see the shadow of what seemed to be a monster, walking towards us.
The two males that where in front of us moved to show the owner of the monstrous shadow. It was a large male with scares along it's body and a slit in his lip. His enormous wings stretched out above him, making him seem even more like a beast, and his eyes... they were that of a demon, red and glowing in the darkness of the cave.
I was scared of this demon before me. He was so intimidating with his tall stature and horrifying features. I felt as if he was going to devour me at any moment, so when he spoke it was of no surprise that I jumped. He smiled at my small movement before speaking aloud. "What do we have here?" He asked one of the guards surrounding us, his deep voice made the floor rumble.
"We found these two in our sky's, above the wing-less forest." One of the guards answered.
The demon stepped towards us and I couldn't help but back into the guard beghind me. I was trapped and felt as though my life was going to end. He stopped only inches from me. "You are right to be scared." He glanced over at Choice, who was just standing there. "I take it you're new to the afterlife, considering your guide is still with you." He examined my wings. "I have not seen wings like yours before, what is your alignment?" He practically growled at me, causing a shiver to travel up my spine.
At this time Choice finally stepped in. "He does not have an alignment, he is the special one and we need to get to Fortune's Cave." I looked over at Choice and gave a stern glare, they said too much.
The monster snapped his jaws at Choice. "I did not say you could speak, useless servant." He diverted his attention back to me. "Now what is your name, oh special one?"
I took a breath to steady myself, before standing tall. "My name," I say proudly, "is Rex. What is yours?"
The monster smirked at me. "I see the little Chihuahua has found it's ground, what an adorable sense of bravery." He said, growling out the word 'adorable'. "But if you must know," he stretched out his wings, "my name is Nightmare, I am ruler of the Dark Ones!" Howls of appraisal met his statement. They echoed loudly, but Nightmare's voice could still be heard. "And you do not belong here."
