The creature welcomes me with open wings as I step towards it. "Follow me, your Choice."
The creature turns slowly while starting to walk away, making sure I follow. As it walks along it checks over its shoulder to look at me. It stretches it's wings out, as if to take off. "Will you follow me?"
I try to speak but couldn't seem to make a sound. The creature turns to me once again. "If you choose to follow me you must first make a choice. You have already found your Choice, you just have to choose."
The creature steps backwards before leaping into the air. It beats it's powerful wings to stay in the air. It beckons for me to join it... but I don't know how I am supposed to fly without wings.
"Do not worry, follow me if you will. If you choose not to, continue along your path."
I take a step forward and feel myself lifting into the air. The creature beckons once more. "Use your wings, if you choose to follow me."
I looked over my shoulders to see a pair of wings attached to my back. I somehow mange to move them. When I look back at the creature, it is smiling. "You have chosen. Now will you follow me?"
I push down with my wings and feel my body rise. As I move my wings the ground beneath me becomes farther and farther away.
The creature and I are now at a level height. It flaps it's wings once and turns itself around. I follow as it continues on its previous route, now through the clouds.
The air still seemed still even as I raced through the sky. Something felt off, everything looked full of life but I felt as if it were lifeless.
Nothing felt real.
The creature suddenly pulled its wings in and dropped like a stone. I attempt to follow but my wings catch in the wind. Wind!
I can feel the wind again. The sky is moving once again. The ground below feels real again.
"We have crossed to the plane of the afterlife. I will lead you to where you need to go, just follow me." I look up to see that the creature is hovering above me.
It spirals downwards then let's it's wings out as it gets in front of me. "I will lead you to Daydream, she will have the answers to your questions..." it glances back. "And your voice."
