Mason POV
I get to science just in time to see the only girl that despises me in the whole school. Destiny Harper. I don't know why, but she hates me. I sit down at the table in front of her.
"Hey babe." I say smoothly. Eh, what can I say? It's a gift!
"I'm not anyone's babe." She replies so nonchalantly. How does she do that?!?!
"Anyways I was thinkin' that you and me should hook up some time. Ya know. Just you, me, and some candle light." This was for sure going to earn me a slap but I didn't care. Anything to see what makes her tick.
"Mason Parkerson. You are a dirty, no good, arrogant pig. You and I haven't ever seen eye to eye because of that. You go around school acting like royalty and expecting every girl to just-" she was interrupted from her rant by Marcus Harper. Her weakling step brother that treats her like crap. He makes me so angry with his smug grin.
"Excuse, but why are you talking? I told you to never speak to anyone. You will obey me or else." He smug grin finished the command.
"Yes, I'm sorry Marcus. It won't happen again."
"Then why are you still talking you slut?" Destiny was silent. "Answer me when I speak to you!" He lunged and punched destiny in the nose. Blood was gushing everywhere. I did the only thing I could. I don't know why I did but I just did. I guess I had a soft spot for destiny.
"You little slutty girl," Marcus started, "you should've answered me and now you've gone and got yourself hurt!"
"Hey Marcus, she was just doing what you told her! You didn't have to punch her!"
"Oh SHUTUP mister player. Like you're any better."
"At least I don't treat girls like crap! I make them feel wanted!" I gripped the table to keep myself from hitting him where the sun don't shine. Destiny was getting up and Marcus slapped her face. I could see tears start forming in the corner of her eyes. She tried to run out the classroom but he grabbed her wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?"
No teachers were in here. This was actually zero period so we were the only three in there.
"She's going to the nurses office i say standing up."
Destiny POV
What happened next was interesting. I was scared of Marcus always. I've never been hurt that bad.
"She's going to the nurses office." I heard mason say as he stood up. Why was he defending me? I hated him and he hated me. Just then I saw him throw a punch at Marcus's nose. He hit and blood went flying. Then he punched him in the mouth and the stomach at the same time. Marcus stands up and runs. I knew he was going to get the principle or a teacher. Mason walked over to me.
"Are you okay?" His eyes were sympathetic looking. I never noticed how blue his eyes were.
"I'm.....I'm..." tears started coming and before I knew it mason was wrapping me in a warm and strong hug.
