Mason POV

I woke up with the alarm on my phone blaring. I opened up my eyes and realized that my phone was actually ringing. It was Derek. Today was Saturday! I totally for got I was supposed to meet him at the library.

"Hello?" My voice sounded scratchy.

"Hey, dude where are you? You were supposed to be here 30 minutes ago." Derek didn't sound upset. Naturally. Derek never got upset. I got out of the bed.

"Don't worry dude I'm on my way right now."

"Alright see you later."

I arrived at the library around 15 minutes later. I walked in the door to see Derek standing there, but he had no supplies.

"I thought you were bringing supplies?" He smirked

"I thought we could actually go bowling. I need to talk to you." I didn't usually like when Derek said he needed to talk. I hope this didn't end like our cheesecake prank. Long story. So with that we left the for the bowling ally.

"So man, what's up?" Derek and I sat at the table for our designated lane.

"I need to ask you a question." Derek threw the ball down the lane getting a perfect strike.

"Alright man."

"Are you and Destiny like, a thing?" His question stopped my breath. I knew what he was getting at. Either he was going to get us together or....no. There was no way on earth I'd let this punk date her. My brain thought otherwise though.

"No. Why do you ask?" Stupid! This was not helping my case.

"Well, I was thinking about asking her to homecoming. There's just something about her...." His voice trailed off. No, no, this wasn't happening.

"Sure man. Nothing wrong with that. Go for it."as soon as I said that, Derek whipped out his phone.

Destiny POV

I was washing dishes when my phone started buzzing. I took the dish towel to dry my soaked hands off. I didn't really recognize the, but I answered anyway.

"Hello..." I didn't get very many calls so naturally I was careful

"Destiny! It's me Derek. I need to talk to you." He needed to talk to me. Footsteps were coming from the hallway. Deanna.

"Um, okay. But can we meet up somewhere later? I'm busy right now."

"Sure. Meet me at Stan's Ice Cream in how does 30 minutes sound?"

"Great talk to you later!" I hung up the phone hastily. The door to the kitchen swings open and I quickly shove my phone away in my apron.

"Who were you talking to? You're supposed to be doing the dishes!"

"I know, I'm sorry. I'm leaving in 30 minutes to go to the grocery store. We're out of salad and milk."

"Be back in time to cook dinner. No excuses." As she walks out my mind goes back to Derek. What did he need to talk about
