*End of entire flashback, Current Day*

The past few years have been interesting.

All the boys have released their own albums, they've gone on tours as solo artists, some had kids, one was engaged and then wasn't. They've collabed with different artists, they've won awards, ones got a Grammy and an acting career, another one has been a judge on the very show where he began. They've had their share of significant others. One has a YouTube channel, and one had a very successful third album.

Overall it's been nice since 2015.

Louis and Harry have drifted apart a little and Harry and Carolina have been dating ever since.

As for Louis, he wishes things were different.

Of course he doesn't cry about it as often anymore but he can't deny that he's still infatuated with Harry, and it sucks. He's had so much time to move on and still has yet to do it.

"Heyyy come over for dinner." Niall said over the phone.

"For what?" asked Louis.

"Did I not just say it was for dinner, or?"

"Ok, I'll be there. Bye"

"Bye Louis."

That was their conversation earlier. Now Louis was getting ready and looking for something to bring to dinner. A housewarming gift.

Something changed over the years, Louis didn't just waltz into their flat uninvited. They had boundaries now, and the boys didn't even get together as often. Or maybe that's only to his knowledge, for all he could know Harry, Niall, Liam, and Zayn are having dinner together every night. Even if that was true Louis couldn't do anything about it and he didn't think he could stand seeing Harry and his girlfriend being all lovey-dovey every night like the rest of the boys could.

Did they even consider Louis a close friend anymore? Had they distanced themselves because of what he did to Harry? Had Harry asked them to keep away from Louis? Did Carolina not like Louis and so they boys agreed not to hang out with them at the same time?

Louis wasn't even sure if he knew about the boys lives anymore. He surely didn't know any better than the media did.

Was he really this disconnected?

*knock knock*

"He's here!" Louis heard one shout inside from the other side of the door.

The door opened and there was Harry.

He had since cut his hair, but it was still absolute perfection. Now he had no more curls, but that was okay. He still looked good, and Louis still loved him.

"Hey Louis, c'mon in" Harry smiled at his guest and stepped aside.

"Hi, thank you."

"Louis!" Niall came to greet him at the door.

"Hey Niall."

"Cmon sit."

"So what's the special occasion?" Louis asked once they were all sat at the table.

"Nothing really, it just seems like we haven't seen each other in a while." Liam said.

"Oh, that's all?"

"Yup. Why?"

"I dunno, just that this whole sit-down dinner thing seems a little formal, right?"

"Well, what can I say Louis. We've grown" Liam replied to which Louis only smiled.
