Big Bad Wolf

Nikki's POV

All our guests have vacated in respect for Yennefer's heat. The babies are staying with their sister Nyx, so it's just us so called adults.

The women sit cuddled on the couch watching reruns of Naked and Afraid. The wolves find the show humorous. Them being so snuggled up would be cute if it wasn't for the snarls we get from Nicole everytime one of us comes near. They are all pissed and allowing cranky pregnant Nicole to be their spokesperson/wolf. I know why Court is miffed but the other two. I'm at a loss. Their minds aren't giving anything away. We men have been shut out. We hear nothing. Tom and Jason are confused, so am I. Yennefer is in heat all our senses tell us so. Her scent is intoxicating. Our control is slipping. I really just want to snatch Courtney to our room. Where I can bury my head against her breasts and hide from temptation in the scent of her perfume. I groan. Tom has warned against anything that would seem like aggression. In Nicole's state of mind she's decided Court and Yen need protected. He's seen a pregnant mother force a shift to protect her cubs from a hunter. The babies she carried didn't survive. Just thinking about it makes my stomach ache. If you concentrate a little you can hear their innocent thoughts and emotions. I sigh.

Yennefer's temperature is going up again. Nicole has been keeping it down using her gift of healing. She can't keep that up much longer.

Tom's POV

I watch the sweethearts on the couch especially Yennefer. She is snuggled tightly up to her sister. Is she frightened of what she's feeling. Did Jason or I frighten her some how. We're waiting for her to come to us, let us know she's ready.

Jason's POV

I thought about using the voice. I've used it to calm people before. I know Nikki thinks I use it a little to much sometimes. I have been soothing Nicole anything more direct might damage my relationship with her. Using it on Yennefer right now would feel like I was forcing her. It would be like raping her. I just want her to come to me of her own free will. Maybe if Nicole wasn't playing guardian or Yen would open her mind. I could reach her let her know how much I love and desire her.

Nikki's POV

It seems like hours and the stand off is still going on. Tom and Jason's eyes shine brightly. Their breathing is heavy from the effort to control the shift and the lust. I know I suffer the same.

"She's asleep. She's worn herself out keeping her sisters pain and fever at bay." Tom whispers to me. Sure enough Nicole is sleeping deeply. Both men look to me to handle her. I'm the one that got her knocked up. I quietly get up and make my way to the couch. She's still asleep as I slip my arms around her to gently lift her. She sleepily opens her eyes when she feels herself being carried. I try to hurry her into her room hoping she will remain calm.

"Nikki." She whimpers.

"I got you sweetie." I whisper. She nuzzles my neck. It makes me feel soft inside and relieved she's not throwing a tantrum. I lay her down on her bed and pull the covers over her.

"Nikki," she whimpers again.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask. She's to sleepy to answer she just opens her mind to me. I get a rush of imagines and emotions. Their not hers their Yennefer's. It's painful to feel. She wants Jason's and my love. Then it slips out of Nicole's mind. I'm shaming her sister by not taking her in her first heat as mates.

Nicole has closed her eyes in sleep leaving me feeling like an ass. Yennefer loves me and I'm shaming her. There are so many customs I'm ignorant of. Why didn't Jason or Tom say something? They always say I'm new I'll learn as I go. But this, in a culture where status means so much. She would be looked down on. Fuck, It wouldn't be because I'm an idiot sometimes. They would think something was undesirable about her. I rub my temples I have a headache coming on.
