Neon Lights

In the after light
I stare at the sky,
Bright lights don't shine
Like neon lights

Like a plastic bag
I found my soul,
There for a moment
Gone in the next

Where I found you
Gazing up at the night,
Shinning ever bright
For once this time

It was like a Neon light
In your smile for a time,
Glimmering in your eyes
The way you said goodbye

Can you believe it's been a year since I wrote this. Neon Lights. I just remember staring at the sky, looking at the single star that shone in the night. I pulled out my note book and started writing. I wrote it for you, Cassidy. And now it's been a year, but it still feels like yesterday I spoke to you. Time passes so quickly after all it feels like yesterday I just met you. I've been thinking, maybe I'll reopen those old wounds and write you another poem. What do you think about that? A poem for our first year anniversary?

It's been a year since you've been gone.
