Chapter 5

They take me to the veterinarian clinic.

"Deaton! We need help!" Scott shouts when we enter.

"Whats happening?" Deaton asks as he walks out. I start roughing again.

"It started with her not being able to glow her eyes!" Derek says.

"Now she cant heal!" Peter adds.

"Can she still shift?" Deaton asks.

"Beth?" Derek asks. I take a step back and try to shift. It just causes me more pain.

"I cant!" I shout in anger and i go to punch the wall.

"No!" Derek grabs my hand.

"Let us in!" Scott says and Deaton obliges. I am put on the metal table.

"Do you know whats happening to me?" I ask him and my voice cracks.

"Unfortunately no!" He says and picks up his little light. He points it in my eye.

"Your pupils aren't dilating?" He says.

"Do you have pain killers or something?" I ask him.

"I do but i dont think it will be good for you to have them at this moment in time!" He says.

"Please!" I beg him.

"I cant!" He says. I put my face in my hands and fight back tears.

"Beth!" Derek says. He grabs one of my hands and i feel some of my pain go away.

"Thank you!" I whisper.

"Beth look at me!" Deaton says. I open my eyes and he takes a step back.

"What?" I ask.

"Its safe to say you have your eyes back!" Deaton stares.

"Really?" I smile.

"Those arent hers. Her eyes were blue!" Derek says.

"What? Why arent they blue? What colour are they?" I ask.

"Pink?" Peter says.

"What?" I say.

"Beth. I dont think your a warewolf anymore..." Scott says.

"Im a warewolf! I know i am!" I say.

"Try and shift!" Derek says. I do as im told and try to shift. Afew painful seconds later I've done it. I look at my messed up hand and i see claws growing out of my fingers. I smile.

"Do you have an alpha?" Deaton asks.

"Yeah... well no. It was Derek!" I say.

"Your changing. Its like theres more than one set of DNA in your blood." Deaton says.

"Why what has pink eyes?" I ask. Deaton looks around.

"The experiments." Peter gasps.

"What?" I ask. Peter paces back and forth.

"They are called The Dread Doctors." Peter explains.

"This cant be good." I sigh.

"Its not. Your either a failure or a success. No in between." He says.

"What am i?" I ask.

"Not a warewolf anymore!" He says.

Dear diary,

Afew weeks have gone by. Its a new school year. Me and Brett are dating properly now. We havent seen or heard anything more of the dread doctors since then. My hand healed finally! We still don't know what i am. My best friend from the 4th grade is back. I almost completely forgot about him.
