Kate Bishop

So the reader is the leader of the team, now consisting of Loki, Noh-Varr, Kate, Tommy, and David. After the events of the 2013 issues. They work for Shield now.

"Alright team, listen up" you say.
You were all standing in the plane with parachutes on, almost ready to jump.
"This is one of the simpler missions, just take everyone in the airport out."
"What about civilians?" Tommy said.
"Thomas. It's an abandoned hijacked airport, there are no civilians."
"Ah, good point." he says while he adjusts  his belt connecting to the parachute backpack.
You look up and catch Loki looking at you. He raises his eyebrows and you look to the ground, then turn to your left and walk to the other side of the plane where Kate was. It's been weird between you and Loki, since you used to date. Privately, you know your not supposed to date coworkers. The team never found out and there's always been strange tension between the two of you so it's nothing new to them.
Not supposed to date coworkers you thought walking towards Kate.
Too bad, Kates a catch. And after last time i'd rather not get involved with coworkers like that again.

"Hey." i say breathlessly.
"Hey." she says, looking up from her wrist.
"What's up?"
She twisted her wrist and pulled on a loose thread on her suit.
I glanced at her eyes and took out my pocket knife effortlessly. I grabbed her hand gently and sliced the string off. I could feel daggers being stared at me from Loki.
"Thanks. You nervous?"
"Not really, we've done harder missions."
"Yeah but, don't you ever get nervous? Even before the little ones?" she says as she turns and  grabs a gun from the small armory.
"Get in get out. That's all there is too it."
i say. She doesn't respond, just focuses on adjusting her gun holster.
"We'll I mean, I do worry that one of you guys will get hurt, especially you. Or David." I say while putting my hand on the wall above her and resting my arm, looking down at her.
"Why just me or David?" she asks quietly while looking up at me.
"Well, Noh-Varr and I are Kree, less hard to hurt. Loki's a demigod, less hard to hurt. Tommy's a mutant I guess, less hard to hurt. You and David are more physically vulnerable to hurt. Not to say that you can't kick ass" she laughs softly at that and looks down.
"But I just worry about my team, you know? Not just my team, but my family. I don't want you guys to get hurt." I say turning and leaning against the wall left to Kate.
"Well we don't want to see you get hurt either." she says looking over at David whose busy looking at the map of the airport.
"Ah, I won't get hurt, i'm practically indestructible!"  I exclaim throwing my hands in the air turning to the launchpad. I press the open button and the bottom of the plane goes down (I know nothing about planes, but just think about the Quinjet in the Avengers)
"And if you do?" she yells over the wind.
I turn towards her and say, "Then I owe you 20 bucks." and then I fall backwards out.

The fight was intense, i'll admit it. But was it hard? No fight is hard for me. We were mid way through the mission, Loki taking out the east side, Tommy the west, Noh-Varr south, Kate north, David the parking lot, and I took care of the center a bit towards the north.
Then all of a sudden, these two beefed up versions of the twins from Alice and Wonderland show up and now i'm bleeding.

You throw a punch at the one on your left and he dodges it.
"Smarter than you look, eh?" you say, a little nervous. You swung a kick at the right ones chest and it barley did any damage.
"Oh boy, hey uh, I might need some back up here in the center near the shitty sunglass hut." you say with a hand to my ear piece.
"On it." Kate says while pulling one of her arrows out of some guy.
"On my way." Loki said looking to his left near the center.

They're taking too long you thought as you're getting pushed into a corner.
You gave it your all and with a punch of electricity and after a few minutes, they were down, one on the ground in front of you and behind. You started breathing heavily with a hand on your stomach where one of them had punched you.
"Thats gonna hurt tomorrow" you say looking at the ground.
Then you feel a sharp pain in your left calf. You look behind you quickly and stomp on one of the twins hands. You spin around so your facing him and your about to take out your plasma gun before an arrow hits his head.
"Y/n!" Kate screams as she runs down the stationary escalator.
"Oh, Kate." you say tired/relieved. "I mean, your a little late but-"
"Y/n!" Loki interrupts while running towards you from your right.
"Oh boy." You whisper to yourself.
"I thought you said you had her?" Loki says while looking at Kate and still jogging.
"You said you did!" she says angrily while quickly walking towards you.
"Guys i'm fine. I handled it."
you say looking between them.
"No your not! I saw what that guy did to your leg!" Kate says with a look of anger and extreme concern.
"What'd he do?!" Loki asks looking at Kate then at you.
"I-"
"He cut her leg!" Kate interrupts. "Is it deep?" she asks moving her arms to yours.
"Well-"
"Move back Kate, i can fix it with my magic." Loki says trying to get near you.
"Oh yeah i trust you, especially after you said you'd be here and lied." Kate snarls at him.
"Your such a hypocrite, you know that right?" He says looking at her angrily.
"JESUS CHRIST GUYS." You yell.
They finally stop talking and look at you.
"I appreciate the concern, but I handled it. Both of you know i'm capable of something like this, I asked for help just...just in case. I'm fine! It's just a cut, i've gotten hundreds of them." you say shoving yourself in between them limping away.

Back in my apartment, sitting on my couch.
"I know we both still care, but i'm trying to move on-"
"With her?"
"I don't know. She's cool, but she's technically a coworker and i'd rather not get involved again."
He looks from his spot on the wall, leaning against the fireplace mantle 4ft away from me.
After a few seconds of eye contact, he says with a smirk, "So you do still care?"
"Loki, were friends so i'd rather that you didn't die. If that means I care, then sure. But it's the same kinda care I have for Tommy, or David, or Noh. The friend kind."
"Ugh, I hate that word." he says standing properly putting his hands in his pockets.
"Kind?" I look up at him confused.
"Friend." he smiles patiently. "You never we're the bright one in the relationship."
"Fuck off." I say smiling.
"I guess I should go." He says looking down at me.
"Yeah, thanks for the weird Asgardian medicine thing." I say with a disturbed look on my face while lifting up a jar of black sludge that smells like rotten fish.
"Sure." he says walking to the door.

He opens it just to see Kate with one hand about to knock and the other with flowers.
At first he looks surprised then he smiles and says "Flowers? Cheesy as hell but go for it." He moves past a confused looking Kate.

You throw your head back to look at the door and see Kate.
"Oh, hi Kate. Come in and close the door."
She does so and you stand up to greet her.
You get up to her and you both just look at each other for a few seconds, then you remember. You put your hand in your pocket and pull out a 20.
"For you, dear" you bow and hand it to her.
She giggles and says "Thank you. For you." she hands you the bouquet of flowers.
You grab them still smiling, "What's this for?"
"An apology for being overly dramatic earlier." She says with an apologetic look on her face.
"I see Loki's already given you his." she says looking at the jar on your coffee table.
"Elgh, it smells terrible trust me"
"What is it?"
"Some bullshit to make my leg heal quicker."
She smiles and looks back at you and asks "Is it working?"
"Hopefully."
Aaaand eye contact again.
"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out, just us. Because usually there's 4 other guys and I like it when it's just the two of us." Kate says hopefully looking up at you.
"What, your telling me you don't love to hear David's rants about quantum this and that. And Loki's metaphors and Tommy and Noh's relentless arguing?"
You say sarcastically.
"Oh no I love it, it just gets boring and I've realized i've never really gotten to know you as much as the others." she says.
"Well i'd love to talk with you more." You say as you get a vase for the flowers.
