You didn't always like going out with Ransom. You loved spending time with him, loved how he spoiled you rotten, how he showered you with his love. But, where there was good, that was also bad. Being the girlfriend of Ransom Drysdale brought you more attention than when you were single. People liked the idea of trying to steal you away from Ransom, of "pissing off the trust fund prick". No matter where you went, but especially when you went there with Ransom, people would flock to you, flirt with you, try to make you theirs.

And, well, Ransom doesn't take challenges lightly. Though he has soft hands that don't know a single day's work, he wasn't afraid to get those same hands bloodied and bruised. Especially if meant defending you.

Despite these pursuits, Ransom didn't take it as a sign to stop taking you out. In fact, he seemed intent on taking you on nearly every day to spite them all. To show everyone that you were his girl and he wasn't going to give you up any time soon.

That was how you ended up at Ransom's favorite bar, sipping on a martini while laughing at some story Ransom was telling about his college years. Well, college month. He didn't stick around in education long, preferring to drop out and stoke the flames of his family's rage.

And some fucking asshole decided that seeing you laughing and leaning on your boyfriend was the perfect opportunity to make a move. He slid up behind you, snaking an arm around your waist, whispering, "Hey, pretty girl, wanna slip on outta here?"

"I have a boyfriend."

"Don't see him."

"Then you're blind," Ransom snarled, standing to his full height, towering over the creep. "You have until the count of three to remove your arms from my petal, or so help me...!"

The creep only laughed, leaning more into you while you tried to push him off.

"One..."

"I'd listen to him," you warned. "He has a bit of a temper."

"He's just a spoiled brat. Someone outta show him he can't have it all."

"Two..."

"You're lucky you got a warning. He usually hits first."

"Three."

Ransom swung his fist, hitting the creep's nose with a satisfying crack! The bartender was saying something about how Ransom had to leave, no fighting in the bar and all that. People were gathering around, the three of you the center of attention. But, at least the creep's hold on you was gone as you attached yourself to Ransom's side, him leading you out of the bar.

You reached his Beemer, him opening the door on your side to let you in before he went over to his side. As he pulled out of the parking lot, you said, "Next time, I pick date night."

"Yeah? And what do you want to do for date night?"

"Stay in, watch a movie. Keep you all to myself."

"You just don't want to see me getting in anymore fights."

"No. I don't. And I really don't wanna be cleaning anymore blood out of your sweaters."

He laughed, shaking his head. "Fine. But I get to pick the movie."

"Deal."
