Summary: A patron at the bar you work at offers to be your sugar daddy and due to the stress of juggling two jobs and life, you say yes. Turns out, he is the sweetest man you've ever met. (Sugar Daddy AU)

_______________

"Bambi, baby?" you hear Sam, your sugar daddy, call for you from the kitchen.

"Just a second!" you finish up your essay and save the document. You shut your laptop, new laptop, and rush over to the kitchen, "Hm?"

Sam looks over his shoulder and smiles at you, "Taste this for me?" he nods to the pot in front of him.

You skip over and accept the small spoonful of whatever Sam was cooking. It's warm and savory, but with a kick.

"Mmmmm. What is it?"

"Gumbo, specifically my mom's recipe." He softly smiles and stares back down into the pot, "When my sister and I were little, it'd always be a family affair. We'd go out on the boat and spend the entire day fishing for shrimp. Then we'd come home throw them into the pot to cook. Sarah and I would always fight over who got to throw in what into the pot." he chuckles and you hug him from the side, looking at him with such fondness.

"Sounds like you had a fun childhood."

"Yeah. I did." he kisses your head and gives a light slap on your butt, "Grab some bowls for me, Bambi?"

"Coming right up, Captain!" you salute him and move to the other end of the kitchen, grabbing two bowls and scooping some rice.

_______________

You and Sam are sitting in the living room of his swanky apartment. Your two bowls that previously had gumbo in it now lay empty on the coffee table. A trashy reality show plays on his huge tv. Your body feels warm from not only the food, but from Sam's arms wrapped around you.

"Did you finish your essay?"

"Mhm," you reply, lacing your fingers with his, "Having a newer, faster laptop really helped."

"I'm glad. Education is important, I hate how you had to put it on hold for so long."

You shrugged, "Better late than never, but thanks to you I can finally get my Bachelor's and move onto my Master's!" You sighed, playing with Sam's fingers, "I'm really happy you came into my life when you did."

"Yeah?" you could hear how proud he is from your statement and you roll your eyes, "Don't get too big headed."

"Too late," he chuckles but then says, "I'm glad I met you when I did. I felt so lonely for so long. None of the people I was involved with ever stayed long enough. Then I met you, a woman struggling to stay on her feet at some dingy bar. Even though you looked exhausted, you still remained so bright and kind. I knew I wanted to get to know you more. Then you told me how much you were struggling-"

"And now we're here."

He nods and kisses your temple, "And now we're here. My smart and beautiful Bambi. Gonna be the best psychiatrist out there."

"Sam?"

"Hm?" you don't say anything at first. He feels you hesitating and he's not sure why, "What's going on, baby?"

"Once I'm done with school...will our arrangement end?"

"That's up to you, baby. Remember, all of this is at your pace. As long as you want to continue staying by my side and keeping me company, I'll continue to pay your bills, buy you pretty things, and take care of anything else you want and need."

"What if you find someone? Someone you want to be romantically involved with?"

"I'm not worried about that right now, Bambi baby. I'm completely fine with just you and me right now."

You look over to him, leaning in and pecking his lips, "I really lucked out with you. You're the sweetest man I've ever met."

"Only for you, Bambi, sweetheart, so don't go telling everyone what a softie I am. I have a reputation to maintain!"

You snort and cuddle up into his side again, "I think people already know anyway."
