The Doctors

The Call

He rubbed my back and I drifted off thinking of my missing child.

I woke up at midnight with a sleeping Shawn by my side. I sighed as I thought I let all  my thoughts off the previous day engulf my brain. I got up and yawned. I looked for my phone to check for any messages. There was 2. One unknown and one from Detective Spears. I immediately listened to Detective Spears voicemail message.

"Hello Ms. Knowles, Its Detective Spears. We think we have a lead. Please call me back so I can des--"

I cut off his message and immediately called him. He answered on the third ring.

"Hello." Spears answered sheepishly.

"Hi its Me.Knowles. Sorry about the inconvenience but I just got your message."

"Um..Yea no problem. We checked the footage across from the hospital and we did catch a woman carrying your daughter into a car across the street at the Hess gas station. We have her description and we put her photo out for other police departments to look out for her and our recognition software caught going through the  Holland tunnel and she seemed to have Gabrielle in the back  seat of the car. "

"Ok so what are you going to do now?"

"The station is running a scan on her licence plate and we should be able to link it to her."

"Thank you. Can you send me a picture of the woman?"

"Um..yea sure when I go to the office."

"Ok thank you."

"No problem. Good night Ms. Knowles"

"Good night. Sorry again."

"It's Fine. night" I hung up the phone feeling a sense of excitement go through me. There going to find my baby. I relaxed a little bit and sat my phone down. I looked over at Shawn and he was still sleeping. He must really be a heavy sleeper. I walked over to him and admired him. He really was handsome and quite adorable. I looked over his freckles and smiled. It was 12:30 and I didn't plan on going back to bed so  I decided to just work on the fundraiser for now. Hopefully I can finish up the basis for it and then work the rest of the fundraiser around it.

The fundraiser would of course be for the hospital but what exactly could we do to raise the money. Then it hit me. I had the perfect idea.............I worked on my fundraiser idea all night. When I looked up it was going on 5 o'clock. I was shocked . I didn't know that the time had flown that fast. Shawn started to move and within minutes his eyes were open and staring at me. His stare was intense and it shook me to the core. He got up and walked towards me.

"Good Morning Doctor. How you feeling?" I bit my lip. He sounded so sexy saying that. "Good Morning Doctor Carter and I feel better since last night." "That's good want to talk about it or wait" "Ill wait until tonight ok."

"No problem Beautiful." He leaned over to kiss me but I backed up. "I'm not kissing you Doctor Carter."

 "Oh yea. Were at work."

"No You just have dragon breath."

"Oh dag, you couldve at least let me down easy. You already starting the day off with shade."

"Baby that was far from shade. I didn't say it on the low. I was open and blunt ok that's just pure honesty."

"Alright that's a bet. Ill go brush my teeth so be ready to pucker up."

"Whatever Shawn"

"OOO first name basis again."

"Yea we are"
