"There is no us"

I blushed and we got  back to work.....

Its been two months since Gabrielle and Shawn have met. Gabby loves him and I can honestly say I love him too but not in love. We haven't gotten that close. Were starting slow with the whole relationship as far as making things official. We flirt and there is definitely  a connection I just don't want to jump into anything just yet. Today we are on our way to Manhattan to speak to the hospital committee of New York. Shawn, Doctor Jones, Gabrielle, and I are all going today. Gabrielle is staying with me while cps looks into the police report I filed.

It was 2 and we had to be at the meeting at 4. I hated being late so we were going to be leaving at 3 Doctor Jones, Carter, and I were all looking over the paperwork to make sure everything goes well today. This meeting is highly important. This will determine whether or not we can hold a fundraiser which ultimately decides whether or not the hospital will be able to stay open.

"Alright guys Ill be back. I need to go check on Gabby and make sure shes OK. Please make sure y'all have all of your notes and information correct. If you need to do a mock feel free. Ill be back."

"Alright tell little mama. I said hey" Doctor Jones spoke up as I was walking out the door. He met Gabby too, shes pretty much always here but that's about to change when she starts school in three months. I smiled and left. I saw Gabby sitting with Bobbi and I screamed her name "Gabrielle"

"Mommy" She jumped up and ran to me. When she ran she accidentally bumped into a medical cart knocking down the equipment.

"What the hell?" Doctor Evans was standing by and one of the plastic containers her foot.

"Why the hell are you running in the damn hospital huh?" She screamed in Gabby's face and Gabrielle's big brown eyes begin to fill with tears.

"I'm sorry" Gabby whimpered.

"watch yourself. If I catch you running in here again Imma--"

" Youre not going to do a damn thing. Touch my daughter if you want to and there will be a problem. It was accident. she is five years old and she made one mistake so you need to watch how you talk to her. Youre acting as if you are critically injured when you're not. All she knocked over is a container and a box of gloves so giver me a break."

"Kids don't belong here, this is not a place for children."

"That's clearly evident that's exactly why we have a day care"

"So put it there"

"IT? YOU BETTER BE CAREFUL WHO YOURE TALKING TO. MY DAUGHTER IS NOT AN IT. SHE IS A GIRL AND SHE DAMN SURE HAS A NAME. SHE CHECK YOURSELF. I WOULD HATE TO PUT YOU OUT OF A JOB BECAUSE OF YOUR PATHETIC ASS ATTITUDE. NOW GET BACK TO WORK AND I F CATCH YOU THREATEN MY DAUGHTER AGAIN YOU WILL BE OUT OF HERE."

"Whatever"

'Excuse me, did you say something?"

"No Doctor"

I walked back to my office with Gabby holding my hand. We got in front of my door and knelt in front of her.

"Hey mama, are you OK?"

"mhmm." Gabby nodded her head

"OK baby. Stop crying. That mean lady isn't going to bother you anymore and if she does. You come to me and I will handle it. OK?"

"OK" I wrapped my arms around her and spun her around. Her giggles filled the hallway. I never want my baby to be sad. She is my world and if anyone, I mean anyone, messes with her I will turn their life upside down.
