Killua's Birthday!!!

here is something i wrote for killua's birthday! the og was actually 10 pages (ultimate hxh brainrot achieved), but i revised and shortened it to the best part. includes my favorite killua headcanon of all time.

"Happy birthday dear Killua, happy birthday to you!"

The room erupted into cheers as the song ended, and Killua closed his eyes to savor the moment. Leorio had taken far too long lighting the candles, and almost everyone's singing had been out of tune, but with the people he loved around him, he couldn't have been happier.

He could feel Alluka lovingly squeezing his hand while Gon draped an arm around him, along with the reassuring prescences of Leorio and Kurapika behind him. He pulled Alluka and Gon closer, letting himself sink into their warmth for just a moment before opening his eyes, smiling from ear to ear.

"Thanks guys! Honestly, I haven't been this happy in a while," he admitted, squeezing Alluka's hand.

"Well, now that you're not living with your excuse of a family anymore, you won't have to worry about feeling down ever again!" Leorio proclaimed proudly. Kurapika chuckled in response, shaking his head. (a/n: fuck the zoldyck family)

"Killua, open your presents!" Gon urged him, bouncing around like a frog.

"Alright, here goes!" Killua took a deep breath, and promptly began tearing into his gifts.

About 10 minutes later, the table was littered with an abundance of brightly colored wrapping paper, all of which had fallen victim to Killua's cat-like nails.

Only one present remained untouched.

"Open it, open it!" Gon encouraged him, practically glowing with excitement.

"Okay, okay! Calm down, Gon! I'm opening it."

The gift was wrapped in bright green wrapping paper, decorated with stars. Judging by its volume, Killua guessed that it was probably some sort of book.

Killua carefully tore away the wrapping paper to reveal Gon's gift. It turned out to be a large book titled "Electric Guitar for Beginners." Killua frowned, flipping it open. The summary read, "Learn to play the electric guitar like a pro with this essential guide to electric guitar."

Killua narrowed his eyes, pressing his lips together. "Um...I mean, thanks, but I don't have an electric guitar, Gon."

He glanced over at Gon for an explanation, only to see him frantically whispering back and forth with Alluka, while Alluka wildly gestured toward the table. Killua blinked in confusion. What's happening?

When they caught Killua staring, they just giggled, and Alluka basically shoved Gon under the table. He groaned, emerging with some large object wrapped in an abundance of tissue and bubble wrap. Gon and Alluka hastily uncovered whatever was underneath all the wrapping. Killua peered over the layers of tissue on Gon's lap, trying to see what's inside.

And he nearly jumped out of his chair, shrieking and gesturing wildly.

"Oh my god! Holy--it's--oh my god. It's a--"

A brand new, extremely glossy, 38 inch electric guitar.

Killua tentatively reached forward, picking up the guitar. And just stared. Its body was silvery-white, contrasted by a rich black neck. He released some sort of strangled sound, a cross between a whimper and a sob. He didn't know what to do, what to say.

He gently ran a finger down the body, marveling at how smooth and new it felt. He smiled softly.

It's mine.

Gon broke the silence, saying, "I...well, I also got you an amp! And the audio cable. Also--"

Killua carefully placed the guitar on the table before pulling Gon into the tightest, warmest embrace he could give. He was vaguely aware of the tears cascading down his face, but all he cared about was bringing Gon closer, holding him tighter. Gon yelped a little, giggling. He put his arms around Killua, leaning into his embrace.

"Happy birthday, Killua."
