A/N Just a short little fic. If there are any errors, as always I take constructive criticism. Also, I know Mordie would have been seven but let's just pretend she's older.

Trigger warning: Mention/Subject of Suicide

Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch died 2018 from suicide. Simon Snow found him a-blaze in a forest seconds before his death. Simon Snow declined an interview. Letters from Basilton otherwise known as Baz written to Simon were found by the Grimm-pitch family. They refused to release them for this article. He will be dearly missed.

Malcolm threw the newspaper down on the table. "Why did they have to mention the Snow boy. What a disgrace." Mordie carefully folded the newspaper in front of her before answering.

"I just don't think they should have written about it. He wouldn't have liked it." Malcolm's expression stone, they lapsed into silence. Mordie's eyes glistened from unshed tears. After a few minutes, Malcolm took in a sharp breath.

"He didn't love him"

Mordie scoffed and looked down at her scarred fingers.

"If you really think that you're a fool. He loved him beyond life, beyond the sun crashing into the earth. He loved him so honestly and fully he let him destroy him." She tilted her head slightly towards Malcolm. "You read the letters." She had never spoken this way to her father before. Malcolm's face shifted into a cool glare. His only other sign of anger the tight gripping of his fingers around his tea.

"If he loved him so much then why did he die?"

Mordie looked up at him suddenly her eyes full of anger and sorrow.

"Because you let him wither! You did that. He was so far gone that not even Simon could hold him back. There was no life left for him."

"You act like he had nothing to live for!"

"You act like he had nothing to die for!"
