The New Reality

Unable to accept the reality of the world crumbling at the feet of man,

And the tears of the innocent flooding the land,

The greedy inherit the abundance of the earth while taking food from the jaws of the poor

The idea of the new reality is as fragile and frail as a sick man on the verge of death

Holding on to the strings of life refusing to let go

Souls of a billion stars linger the heavens above seeking the peace and solitude they never experienced,

The truth of the nation is hidden in the lies that men spew from their mouths

But only the wise can unravel the mystery and find every flaw in this so-called history

The world as we knew it is no more, and the riches of men are more important to him than            his fellow brothers

Hopeless and wondering on a wilting land that is draining our souls of its purity and                  purpose,

Leaving us to rot like a discarded fruit in the dessert of agony,

No man can make the world flourish again, for this is the new reality
