Ep. 5: FIRST DAY OF PRE-WED TRIP

FRIDAY, JULY 23 2021

Sunshine goes between the curtains and falls onto FrankDrake’s bed. Frank pulls out the card that Drake gave on his birthday and shows it right in front of Drake’s face. Drake’s still having a hard time opening his eyes, and is trying hard to see it.

FLASHBACK TO JULY 12 2021

Frank and Drake are out of town because they went site visit 1,5 hours by flight away from home. On the way to the hotel with a rental car, Drake asked Frank to stop by a minimarket. Frank checks his phone and looks at the time, 00:00. He’s starting to get texts, wishing him happy birthday. He smiles and replies to the chat one by one. After a while, he looks at the minimarket’s door and finds Drake’s struggling to open the door with a small piece of cheesecake with a candle that has been lit on top on his left hand, and grocery bag on his right hand. Frank chuckled and started to film his husband with his phone. As Drake gets closer, Frank helps Drake to open the car’s door.

DRAKE
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you~ [sits beside Frank then closes the door] happy birthday dear husband, happy birthday to you~ Pray then blow it quick

FRANK
[stops filming, pray silently, then blow the candle] thank you, my cute godzilla [pinch Drake’s cheek]

DRAKE
Ah, my first gift [gives Frank a handmade card]

FRANK
A chance to make Drake as Frank’s avatar for 3 days? [furrows eyebrows] Is this the same as last year?

DRAKE
Last year only a day, now plus 2 days hehe

FRANK
Pft, okay I can use it whenever I want, right?

DRAKE
Yup, as long as you keep the card

FRANK
What’s the 2nd gift?

DRAKE
I left it at home. But I have a 3rd gift, I’ll show you later in the hotel [smirks]

FRANK
It’s you, isn’t it? [ruffles Drake’s hair] Don’t say you’ll wrap yourself in ribbon again

DRAKE
Nah, I don’t have time for it. I’ll just show you the raw version [smirks]

FRANK
[laughs while shaking his head] I better drive quickly then

 
BACK TO JULY 23 2021

DRAKE
[half-awake] So today..?

FRANK
Yup, for the next 3 days

DRAKE
[slowly stands up and Wai] Drake’s ready to be at your service, Master.

FRANK
Carry me to the bathroom [raising his arms]

DRAKE
Yes sir

Today is the first day of Viho fam and in-laws’ trip. The clock shows 09:00, and everyone gathers in Viho fam’s living room. Everyone’s saying happy birthday and Podd gives his homemade birthday cake for Mix who celebrated his birthday yesterday. The last one who shows up is Namtan.

Helloo everyoonee! I’m not late, right? I came straight from the airport.
