"Chiron."
"It's been too long Clint. Will and Kayla have been asking for you to visit."
"Apologies, I've been... busy."
"No matter, I'm sorry for giving you such late notice but we need you at camp. Now."
"Why what's going on? Is everyone ok?"
"We are fine... for now, but I fear it will be easier-... better... to explain when you get here."
"I'll be there in an hour max."
"See you then Clint. Oh! And take your weapons. I fear they will be necessary."
"Will do."
The misty picture faded and Clint was left along in his room. He sat on his bed for a minute processing the new information before jumping up and putting on his Hawkeye suit. He wasn't going in sweats so he may as well go in uniform. He grabbed his beaded necklace, containing only had 3 beads.
Clint didn't have the best childhood, from when he was a baby to when he was six and a half, him and his older brother Barney were stuck in an abusive household. Their father drank too much, spent every last cent his mother earnt on alcohol and drugs. He struggled to get a job and was constantly mad so he decided to take it out and his wife and kids. His mother was kind but did nothing to protect Clint and Barney when it came to their father. Too say the least, their dad beat the shit out of them, leaving Clint 80% deaf from one too many punches to the ear.
When Barney was 10 and Clint was 6, Their mother and father were killed in a car accident so the government shipped them off to foster care. They didn't like that. At all. Together, the brothers went through 5 foster homes in 4 months so they finally ran off... and joined a circus. Carson's circus.
Carson was an incredibly humble man and took Clint and Barney in to help out around the circus for a place to stay and some cash. The circus was an incredibly tight knit family and took the two youngest boys as they would their little brothers. Of course, there were older kids working the same odd jobs, 12 year olds running away from a tough life to 18 year olds trying to get a gig. They fit right in.
It was when Barney turned 12 that he started to grow dark. He snuck out late with the other boys and came back smelling of smoke and alcohol. Clint was still Barney's brother though, and Barney still protected Clint with his life.
The going out never stopped though, Clint had been pressured into smoking his first cigarette by Barney and his "friends" when he was 11 and Barney was 15. It was not long after that Barney turned rough and aggressive, even towards his brother and his little gang took Clint into their little group as the entertainer. Clint had a killer aim and got even the trickiest of shots.
Trickshot the resident archer in the circus, saw Clint's shots. He was nothing short of impressed so he invited to teach Clint the arm of a bow. Clint was ecstatic and rushed to tell Barney straight away, who looked almost hurt. He grunted and continued downing his bottle of vodka.
Years flew by and Clint got a joint show with Trickshot, Barney got jealous, Clint got his very own show "The incredible Hawkeye" and eventually overthrew Trickshot, the older kids, Barney, Trickshot and the Swordsman (who was always a pain anyway) stole thousands of dollars from the circus, lit the tent on fire with Carson and most performers still inside, Clint caught them stealing and Trickshot shot him with an arrow, missing his heart my mere millimetres and woke up in a hospital.
From then, Clint was found by a satyr and was escorted somewhat safely to Camp Half Blood, where he learnt his true parentage and spent the best 3 years of his life training and having a real childhood. He even went on a quest for his father, though Clint will never speak of it. He lost his best mate, and that's when he knew he needed to move on.
You know the rest, assassin leads to SHIELD agent, meets Natasha, Joins avengers, Gets brainwashed by a Norse god. The usual.
Clint realised he was daydreaming again and threw the necklace around his neck and punched in his password for the safe hidden in his room, containing his matte black bow and a quiver of celestial bronze arrow tips. It was a gift from his father, Apollo when he was first claimed and completed his quest. The quiver was enchanted by Hecate herself so that the arrows never run out, something he could use in his mortal life.
He only just opened his door when he was met with Steve.
"Where are you going?"
