prologue

I could hear the surges of energy and the bright purple light radiating from my backyard.

I head downstairs and out the back door, following the growing light coming from some strange artifact that just fell from... who knows where..?

I inch closer to the ball of light shielding my eyes from the bright light it's emitting.

I pick it, which I come to find out was a bad decision as I feel power and energy coursing through my veins. Almost as if I pulled all the light out from the orb.

I drop it as it's light begins to fade, and it looks as though all the color has been drained out.

I can hear the wind start to pick up around me and it sounds like hissing as it grows louder and louder and louder.

I wake with a jump.

It was just a dream. The same one I've been having for 3 months ever since I got my powers.

I conjure a purple ball of energy in my hand before sighing and laying back down in bed.
