Katsuki's POV
We've been walking for hours now. The sun was finally starting to peak through the little openings between trees and branches.
Still, we continue to walk, looking for our new home.
"Can we take a break? We've walked through brush for forever." Kiri complains from behind me. I give into his request and we stop at a fallen tree to sit.
"Here, have some water. I'll get some food out too." I say handing him the bottle. Eagerly he takes it and gulps down.
I crouch down and ruffle through our bags looking for our leftovers. Pulling out a couple granola bars, I hand him too and take one for me.
"Aren't you more hungry?" I hear him ask with his mouth full.
I shrug, "Not really. I could go longer but this'll hold me over till we find a spot." I reply too him and he just nods.
We finish eating quickly and start walking again. This time it is a slow pace due too our exhaustion. A couple times one of us would stumble over a log or thick patch of underbrush, but the other would catch and steady them before they could fall.
Kiri stumbles over a dense patch of weeds and falls forward, too fast for me too catch him. I here him thump and groan a little.
"You okay?" I ask while walking over the patch that made him fall and pushing a couple branches of trees away from my face.
"Yeah, it wasn't that far of a fall so I'm not hurt at all." He answers. I finally get through the branches and am now standing in a small clearing, an abandoned looking cottage lays before us. Not far ahead of said I can see the remains of a campfire spot.
Kiri finally looks up from the ground after standing up. "Whoa." I hear him whisper next too me.
"Let's go see if its really abandoned. If it is, I say we stay here." I walk forward. It takes Kirishima a few seconds too shake his daze from the cottage and catch up too me.
I stood in front of the door and press my hand to the door knob. Carefully I twist it and the door opens with a satisfying pop and small squeak.
It slowly swings open. And, surprisingly, the place is a lot cleaner than I thought it would be for looking so abandoned on the outside. Almost all of the furniture looked to be there and covered in sheets.
Walking in you first enter a small foyer. A half wall is to the left of the entrance and a hallway type area is to the right. Directly in front is a living room. A kitchen is too the right of the living room and I see some sort of space in front of the kitchen. A table sits there so I'm guessing its the dining area.
I walk in more, Kirishima sticking close too my back. To the left is an entrance that leads to an area with another room and a set of spiraling stairs leading up too a loft area.
"Wanna go up?" I ask without turning. I feel him nod against my shoulder and we start to make our way to the top.
First coming up I see the form of a table with a couple chairs under another sheet. Looking to the right, against the back wall another sheet is strung across the shape of a dresser. Finally, all the way on the right wall is the lumpy form of a bed.
"YES! Finally a real bed we can sleep in!" Kiri speeds to in front of me and jumps onto the sheets. His bags are tossed to the side without a care. I laugh, following along with his idea and placing myself next too him. I lay back and start too feel myself drift after such a long night and day.
~>1 hour time skip<~
My eyes flutter open. I feel a wait against my side. Turning to look I see Kirishima still passed out. A light smile graces my face before I force myself off the soft bed and make my way down stairs.
We were going to have too clean a bit but luckily it wasn't much. It was mostly just dust. I look around a little more to get more detail of the space. The room behind the stairs appeared too be a bathroom with a decent sized shower. I knew Kiri would be stoked too finally use that. I couldn't blame him though. I felt the same way.
I finally start removing the white sheets from everything. I find a couch that is a fern green. Moving on I uncover the table in the dining area. It was beautifully carved cedar. The booth seats around it have forest green cushions. I ignore what I believe too be a huge window for now.
I continue across the white oak floors to the kitchen. Above the counters were white cupboards with gold handles. I move the cloth out of the way too reveal beautiful sage green countertops. The cabinets under them match the cupboards above.
This place just seemed too be getting better and better by the second. I look in a couple of the cabinets. There seems too be everything needed to stay here but I'd look through everything more later.
After a little bit more looking around I make my way back upstairs. I walk too the form of a table and pull off the cloth. Its a darker wood, similar to the floors on the loft but still a little lighter. String up lights hang over the whole upstairs area. I didn't know if this place had power yet but I sure hoped it did.
Next the dresser. Its big enough for both our clothes. The same color as the table too.
I look back too Kiri's still sleeping body. He moved some while I looked around but not much.
One last time I go down stairs to lock the door and back up.
I lay once again next too him. He immediately turns over to cuddle me and I relax into his arms, falling asleep quickly again.
Id say its a longer chapter this time. No idea tho. Sorry this took so long to put up. For some reason its always metal breakdowns that make me write more again. Anyways, i will b posting a picture of a house layout I made. Itll look a little messy but its also 4 in the morning and i started it at 2 in the morning. Itll b good enough for now tho. I will also b getting into more detail about the surrounding area of the cottage since I realize ima really need 2 do that. I hope u wonderfull peeps have a great day/afternoon/night wherever u r tho! BYE!!
