♚ ♔ ♚𝙏𝙊𝘿𝘼𝙔 𝙒𝘼𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙀 day, Tommy and Grace's wedding day. Leonie had never attended a wedding before, so she was very excited. She dreamed of being a flower girl, tossing the colorful array of petals onto the pathway.
She had met Grace a few times before the wedding, and she had decided that Grace was a fine match for Tommy. She had never thought Tommy would've gotten married, but a nice girl like Grace was good for him, she grounded him and Leonie noticed that.
What really took her off guard was when she found out about Grace's pregnancy. She couldn't help but think Tommy was just marrying her out of guilt, but hopefully not. Thomas Shelby as a father, that would be interesting to say the least.
Leonie looked through her closet as she tried to find the dress she was planning on wearing. It was the color ivory and made of silk, real imported silk from China. Grandmère had gifted it to her upon her fifteenth birthday. She was waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it.
"Ughh!" she stormed down stairs. "I can't find my dress maman, it's not in my closet," she blurted out, frustrated.
"Well it wouldn't be in your closet because I've just finished ironing it," she replied.
"Oh, well thank you," Leonie was embarrassed about her little fit. Her mother rolled her eyes slightly and pointed over to the living room, where Leonie's eyes trailed over to her dress draped over the chair.
She retrieved her dress and rain upstairs, she didn't have much time left. After all, it takes a lady a while to get ready, and that's how she would present herself as.. a lady.
She stared in the mirror, trying to decide which shade of rouge to wear, swatches all over her wrist.
"I'd go with the red, it suites your light hair, makes you look very mature," Olivier blurted out as he walked past her door.
Leonie was startled. "Doesn't make me look too grown up?" she teased.
"Well you have grown so much, it's a shame I missed out on your life all these years."
"Don't be so sappy," she rolled her eyes.
"Oh forgive me, I forgot you were an angsty teenager!" he teased.
Leonie watched him smile as she closed her door.
She had decided to follow Olivier's advice and go with the bright red. After all, it did suit her. Her dress had fit her a tad bit smaller than she remembered, but it still worked to say the least. She had always worn her hair down, in loose curls, but she figured an up-do would add more sophistication to her look.
As she was checking herself in the mirror, someone knocked on the door.
"I'm almost ready!" she shouted, thinking it was her mother or one of her brothers, but she noticed a different face when the door cracked open.
"Can I come in?" he asked cautiously.
"Hello Finn," she smiled.
"You look stunning," he said looking her up and down. Leonie tried to hide the flushing of her cheeks.
"And you look very dapper, as always, Finn."
"I have something for you." He grabbed something out of his pocket, and Leonie could see the metal glisten in the sun shining through her window. It was a necklace, a beautiful necklace. It fit like a chocker and had a handsome emerald jewel dangling from the center.
He walked behind and asked "May I." Leonie nodded in response.
She felt his warm hands make contact with her neck as he clasped the necklace. She felt herself get goosebumps as a response to her touch, but they relaxed as a response to the lack of contact that followed.
He placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her around so that she faced him. They both looked down at the necklace at the same time, placing attention to the dazzling jewel. When they looked back up at each other, their eyes met.
"Well what do you think?" he asked.
"I-it's beautiful," she stuttered. "Thank you." She had felt so nervous, never before had he made her so nervous.
"Is green still your favorite color?" he smirked.
"It is. I can't believe you remember that!" she laughed. "I've always been partial to emeralds, it's perfect."
She noticed Finn's face light up. He seemed so pleased that she liked it, so pleased with himself.
"What are you doing here?" he asked after a few seconds of silence.
"You're my date remember," he smirked.
"Since when??"
"Since I gave you that necklace," he teased.
"So that's the caveat... I should've known there would be a condition for such a beautiful gift," she said sarcastically.
They walked out of her house, and made their way to Finn's car. It was a nice car, Leonie noticed. Her mother and brothers told her that they would meet her there, Leonie wondered if Finn asked them to do so. Leonie knew her mother always had a soft spot for Finn, she adored him. And Leonie did too.
