They quietly unlocked the door and stepped outside into the cool night, the stars were out and the sparkle of the moon danced graciously on the shiny car windows.
Dream tapped the vehicle "Got my licence recently, want to go for a drive?"
George's heart beat fastened quickly "Yeah! Where are we gonna go?"
"Hm, I don't know. Just around I guess? You haven't really seen outside the neighbour hood have you?"
"No not really..."
"Get in then! I'll give you a private tour, sir," the tall blonde smirked, opening the door for George to get into the passenger seat.
"Thanks!"
They both buckled in as Dream started the engine smoothly. The sound was loud in the silent night, but wasn't too disturbing. Not loud enough to wake someone.
The black car started down the quiet street lit with golden light from the lampposts, not a should could be seen. Well, it was past midnight.
"What music do you like?" Dream asked, handing him the chord to the speakers so George could plug his phone in. "Feel free to put something on."
"Oh, thanks!" George connected his phone to the speaker and went on Spotify. "I like this song!"
He clicked on his chosen music and let the beat start. The song was called 'Backyard Boy' by Claire Rosinkranz.
George hummed the lyrics quietly and Dream tapped on the steering wheel to the beat.
The shorter boy didn't want to be too loud, as he was still kind of nervous around his friend. That didn't mean he was uncomfortable- this was the most fun he'd had in a long time. He just felt the need to impress Dream, make him like him more. Why? No idea...or, did he...?
"I love this song George! Your music taste is excellent!"
"Hm! Thanks!" George beamed at his friend.
The car slowly stopped at a sidewalk, Dream parking smoothly. They were on a Main Street road, somewhere George had never been before. It looked like they were in a town, much bigger than their village.
"Wow, look at all the flashy lights!" George got out the car as he beamed around at the big billboards and neon shop lights.
"I know right, its beautiful..." Dream was not looking at the lights, he had no interest in them. he was gazing at something- someone else. "Come on, follow me."
They strolled down the colourful street, a few other people passed by as they made their way down the sidewalk.
"Here!" Dream turned into a small, pastel looking store.
George looked at the sign above: 'Butterfly Boba'.
He followed Dream inside "Oh my god I love boba! And this place is so cute!"
"Haha, I knew you would like it. What do you want?"
They ordered their drink, George had strawberry tea with Mango balls. Dream had mint tea with lemon balls. (My personal favourite, don't bully me :'))
They took their drinks outside and sat on a small table outside. George popped his straw through the plastic and took a sip, his taste buds bursting with the sweet flavour.
They sat looking at the stars, not saying a word. They didn't need to, this was enough.
I like this feeling.

"This was fun, thank you Dream," the car stopped back home.
"No problem George. Like I said, we should do this again sometime!"
"I would like that..."
They walked up the drive to the door quietly. Dream turning the handle, making sure not to make it squeak.
Taking their shoes off, they were about to go back upstairs to bed when a sound of people talking came to their attention.
They gave each other a panicked look, had they been caught? Listening, the chatting was coming from the lounge.
"Who could that be? My parents go to bed at like, 10pm!" Dream whispered.
George shrugged, they both tip-toed to the lounge door, peaking at the couch.
"Pfft you're such a dummy Harriet!"
"Hey! I- I'm not a dummy! Your'e a dummy, dummy!"
"What a come back," Drista laughed.
"Shh!"
"No you shush!"
"Don't tell me to shush!"
"I can tell you to do whatever I want, its my house!"
"Oh really, do you pay the bills?"
"No, but I am the soul and heart of this household, so pay me some respect."
The two girls were on the couch together, side by side.
"Oh, I'm so sorry my Queen."
"Thats better, peasant," Drista pushed Harriet onto the soft couch, pinning her down.
"OoOoo what you gonna do?"
"Kiss you."
"Ha I'd like to see you try- WAIT WHAT?" Harriet's face went bright red underneath the blonde girl. "Y-you don't have the guts!"
"Oh yeah?"
"Y-yeah!"
"You're cute."
The two teenage boys watched the scene unfold as their two younger sisters locked lips passionately.
Dream looked down at George, both in shock.
What the hell?! I didn't know Harriet was into girls?!
Dream pulled George away from the doorway, dragging him down the hall and up the stairs quickly.
They fell into his room, Dream shutting the door behind George.
After a couple of moments of processing, the two burst into silent laughter.
"Y-your face was hilarious George! You looked like you just saw a ghost!" Dream tried to stifle his wheezing.
"I thought Harriet was homophobic!"
"Really?"
"Yeah! Thats why it was a double shock for me! I mean, just seeing your sister make out with your best friends sister is already a weird sight, but Harriet and Drista!? Never saw it coming to be honest."
"Me neither, they seemed happy though."
"Yeah..." George smiled.
They both flopped on the bed at the same time, looking at the ceiling "that was strange, but let's get some sleep."
...
"George? Want to go to sleep?"
...
"Hello? Georgie? Where do you want to sleep? Hm?" Dream propped himself up on his elbow, looking at his friends face.
Asleep.
Already? Damn he must have been tired.
Dream smiled as he lay next to the sleeping boy "Goodnight George~" he closed his eyes, and dropped off as quickly as George.
