Ding ding ding
Georges alarm went off, 11:55pm.
OK calm down, why am I so nervous right now? I'm only going in my backyard, I won't get told off, I'll just say I needed some fresh air if mother asks...damn it what do I do? Are these clothes alright? I hope so...why am I so bothered!?
He took a deep breath and quietly opened his bedroom door, tip toeing down the stairs, making sure not to make them squeak. Shuffling across the kitchen floor, he grabbed the backdoor keys and slowly turned them in the glass patio doors.
He checked the time as he closed the doors behind him, 11:58pm.
The brunette sat on the grass, looking up at the deep, dark blue sky; stars scattered it neatly, illuminating his features.
Georges ears perked up as he heard a muffled sound of a door closing. Then a familiar smile appeared from the top of the fence.
Dream gave him a quick wave as he pulled himself over the obstacle, landing with a soft pat on the grass like a cat.
No words were spoken, Dream came and sat next to his friend silently. The tree's leaves rustled together calmly, the two boys hair brushed against their faces with the gentle breeze as well.
Peaceful.
"Pretty, aren't they?" Dream said, pointing to the night sky.
George hummed in agreement.
They stayed there for a few minutes, hands slightly touching as they gazed up at the constellations.
"So..." the taller pushed himself off the ground, offering a hand out for George to take "May I have this dance, young sir?" he grinned mischievously. The older took his friends hand as he was pulled up with ease. Dream pulled his waist in to his, connecting them gracefully.
"Lets start with the typical slow walk, at the start or the end there is always a cheesy ballroom dance, thats the only bit you need to know what to do for."
"O-Ok."
Dream guided Georges feet kindly, showing him where to step and where to rest his arms. The blondes hands did not move from the shorter's waist as they slowly paced in comfortable circles around the lawn.
"Thats it, you're getting the hang of it now! Remember, one and two and three-" George was growing more confident as he learnt how to do a simple step sequence.
"This is the fun bit, ready?"
"Uh-"
"Trust me."
"Mhm!" George nodded as Dream took his hand and guided him in a twirl, then pulling him back in securely. He put his hands underneath Georges arms gently, and lifted him up, spinning him in the air. George giggled with delight as his feet lifted from the ground.
"Dream! Put me down!" he laughed as he latched onto his companion.
"Wow George don't push-!"
Dream stumbled as he tried to keep his balance on the uneven turf. In vain, for he tripped over, leaving a laughing George on top of him as they rolled onto the ground playfully.
"Haha! Dream s-stop that tickles!"
"I'm not touching you! You're the one pinning me down!"
"Shhh keep your voice down silly!"
"Hey you're being loud too!"
George wiped a tear of happiness out of his eye as his conscious came back. He realised he was resting on Dreams chest, inches away from the other's face. Lucky it was dark, otherwise the blush on both of their faces would have been very obvious.
"S-so I think you've got it now," Dream said as he brushed Georges hair out of his eyes with his hand.
"T-thanks..."
George's senses must have exploded as the younger brushed his warm fingers against his cheek.
"George...I've been thinking...a lot," the taller started.
"yeah?"
"Yeah...And I think I...I lov-"
Suddenly, their moment was interrupted with George's house illuminating with light as someone inside turned the light on. Obviously someone had heard them.
"Damn, uh- I-I'll see you tomorrow-" Dream quickly got up, grabbing the fence.
"O-OK thanks for teaching me!"
"No problem, it was a pleasure," Dream smiled as he pulled himself over to his side again.
George stood in silence, processing the events that just happened. He twirled around, holding his head.
Oh my god I'm in love-
"George! What the hell are you doing outside this late, you need to go to bed!"
"S-sorry Mother I was just-"
"I don't care, just come inside before someone sees you, I don't want them thinking you're a weirdo."
"...whatever."
George jogged inside as his mother gave him a glare and shut the door "Watch your attitude, otherwise I won't allow you to go to that dance thing your school sent me an email about. That reminds me- who's the lucky girl? Got anyone in mind?"
George looked at her blankly. He was about to admit the truth, but he decided it was better that she didn't know "No, I think I'll just go by myself."
His mum sighed "if thats what you want, then fine. At least its better than you being..." she made a disgusted face "homosexual."
George's heart sank. He knew his mother was homophobic, but it hurt more now that he knew that he was what she despised so much.
"I saw two boys walking down the street this evening holding hands! How gross is that? I don't want you talking to those mentally ill people, alright?"
George didn't reply, he just pushed past him mum and ran up the stairs. Hugging his pillow, he stifled his tears as he drifted off to sleep. He told himself he didn't care what she had to say, or what she thought, but it still hurt him.
He sighed, I don't care what she thinks. I'm going to go to a dance in two days with my crush, and thats more than I've ever wanted...
He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
