"Mr. Agreste, wouldn't it be more profitable for the company to have me on Adrien's arm for the gala?" Lila questioned, "You would have both of your models in one place and showing off your collection pieces that compliment each other perfectly."

Gabriel leaned back in his chair as he let her words ring in his head. He knew that Lila was doing this to get close to his son, but showing off his collection was hard to come by. He had some couple sets that hadn't been modeled.

"Very well, but I have already given Adrien the tickets, including his plus one. I'll speak to him when he returns from fencing practice." Gabriel spoke.

"Thank you for squeezing in time to see me, Mr. Agreste." she spoke, as she exited his office.

'Now, all I need now is to create an opportunity where Adrien can't escape and is forced to hand the ticket over.'

Lila smiled as the perfect opportunity arrived when Adrien entered the Agreste Manor.

"Hi, Adrien!" She announced, hoping to gain the attention of Gabriel.

It would be better for him to deal with the issue swiftly. It's not like Adrien to defy his father. Sure enough, Gabriel emerged from his office.

"Adrien, I would like you to give your plus one ticket to Lila." Gabriel demanded.

"No." he answered.

"What?" Gabriel and Lila asked.

"Adrien-" his father began.

"No." Adrien interrupted, "I already gave the ticket to my girlfriend and invited her."

"Girlfriend!" Lila shrieked.

"Yes." Adrien replied, crossing his arms.

"I did not allow this!" Gabriel shouted.

"I know." the young Agreste replied, "She's my girlfriend; not yours."

"Adrien, there are people in this world who will use you." Gabriel spoke up, hoping to get his point across.

"Like Lila?" Adrien responded, turning to her, "You are not keeping up your end of our deal."

"Deal?" Gabriel asked, while Lila panicked.

Adrien smiled, "Yes. I told her I'd pose for pictures with her if she left a certain someone alone and she hasn't so....I will no longer be modeling with Miss Rossi."

"What?" Lila cried out, faking her surprise, "She's lying, Adrien!"

"You tried to get her expelled by planting evidence!" he shouted back in anger, making her step back, "What? Scared of the real me, Lila? If you were hoping for that meek poster boy, you see in class, that's only for when people are around. We're in my house so I can tell you to fuck off!"

"Adrien!" his father shouted.

"Father, tell me, you will have me run the company, correct?" Adrien questioned.

"Yes." Gabriel spoke, firmly.

"What will I be doing? Modelling for a gentleman's catalog?" he pointed out.

He noticed his father falter.

"We both know I have no artistic talent. I might as well learn from Natalie and be a secretary, at this rate. Who will continue your legacy for Gabriel? Who will create the designs once you have left this world? You don't have an apprentice or interns. At this rate, Gabriel will fall with you." he concluded.

Gabriel let his son's words sink in.

"I have a remedy for this and that is my girlfriend." Adrien smiled.

"Your girlfriend?" Gabriel asked.

"Yes. She is a designer and very talented. She makes her own clothes already. I always have to ask if it's something she made or store bought. She does commissions for regular people and those that are well know. I plan on making her my wife. This way Gabriel will stay within the Agreste name."

"Wife!" Lila shrieked.

"Tell me more about her." Gabriel spoke, ignoring Lila fume beside him.

"You have already met her before. She captured your attention with a bowler hat in one of your competitions and she turned down Style Queen's free apprenticeship when she was fourteen." he smirked.

"She doesn't sound smart." Lila sneered.

"She said it was better for her to continue her studies now and if she had left with Audrey, it's likely her whole style would have been forcefully changed. She decided it was better to develop her own style and apply later with scholarships and internships. Gabriel is the number one spot in her list."

Gabriel was starting to like the idea of his son's girlfriend more and more. He could vaguely picture her: blue eyes, dark hair, but he couldn't remember her name. It was on the tip of his tongue.

"When will I meet this young lady?" he asked, "I would like to make sure she is dressed for the gala."

"Mr. Agreste!" Lila pleaded.

"She's been making her own dress for months between commissions." Adrien admitted, ignoring Lila, "Once I learned of the gala, she started designing. I can't wait to see her in it. She's been keeping it a secret from me."

"How about dinner then?" questioned his father.

"I can see if she's available for tonight." Adrien answered.

"And her name?" Gabriel asked.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng." the young Agreste smiled.

"You're with her!" Lila screamed.

"Yes." he smiled, "I have been with her for two years. We went today to the police station to put a formal request down for a restraining order on you. She has all those text messages you sent her as proof."

"Didn't you tell me, Ms. Rossi, that she was a bad influence on my son?" Gabriel asked.

"A bad influence?" Adrien laughed, "Marinette? She's our class president! Her grades are the third highest in the class. She does commissions for Jagged Stone, Clara Nightingale and the Wayne family. I asked her for an autograph; she's never asked me for one. She would probably ask you, Father; you're her idol. Pretty sure Tim Drake-Wayne has been trying to convince her to move to Gotham and get her hired there. She does have the 'Wayne' look. She would blend in there."

Gabriel spoke up, "Adrien, let's go to my office. Tell me more about Ms. Dupain-Cheng and make sure you ask her about joining us for dinner tonight." as Natalie opened the door for Lila to leave.

Adrien smugly turned to Lila, "You can leave now. Your presence is no longer required here." and closed his father's office doors shut.

Lila felt herself be moved outside, but she couldn't believe that Marinette had won and had won a long time ago.
