Finale

Well, here it is everyone! The ending is short and sweet. Its actually been finished for a while, but I just wasn't ready to say goodbye to this story. Enjoy!

2 years later

The applause quietly fades as Erwin heads up to the stage, looking good as ever.

"Thanks everyone for coming this year..." his speech is charming per usual, and everyone's eyes are glued to him. It still amazes you, how he can capture a crowd. His eyes dart to yours ever so often as he speaks, and each time he does it— it feels like it's just you two in the whole room.

You peer down at the brilliant diamond, along with its matching band adorning your ring finger. The two of you tied the knot last year. It was a small and intimate ceremony, but it was stunning nonetheless. Everything has been amazing so far, so you're slightly nervous to tell Erwin what you found out a few days ago. You figure it's now or never, so you might as well get it out while you still have the nerve.

His speech wraps up, and he whisks you away to the dance floor at the same gala you've been attending each year. Together. You look around the room as he sways you, and you can see all of your friends and colleagues giddy— truly happy with their dates.

Annie and Armin are engaged now, and you couldn't be happier for them. Jean gives you a nod and a smirk as he sips quietly from his cup. He still remains a great friend of yours to this day. Your eyes stop at Eren, and he smiles at you before turning back towards his date. He's been with her for some time now, and they genuinely seem happy together, which makes you happy.

As you and Erwin make it into his place— well, now the home you share together, you sit back on the couch before propping your feet up.

"Are you alright? You've been acting a little strange the past few days." He asks you.

"Yes... I'm fine."

"If you say so. Want a glass of wine?"

"No, I can't! Um sorry... Shit, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to yell."

He sits down on the couch beside you, and turns your body toward his. "Okay, what's up? You're not acting like yourself."

"I know. I'm sorry." You sigh.

"Please. Tell me what's going on."

"Well, I went to the doctor a few days ago because I wasn't feeling well."

"Why didn't you tell me?!"

I didn't want you to worry. I'm sorry. But that's not it. The words come out like vomit. "Erwin I'm pregnant."

His words catch in his throat. You're worried that he isn't ready. Of course, you two do want children, but you had planned for that in a couple more years or so.

"I know it's sooner than we planned for, but-"

Erwin cuts you off mid sentence, pulling your body into his chest. He grabs your face as he pulls back.

"Did you think I would be upset?"

"So, you're happy about the baby?"

"Of course. I love you. So much." He says, pressing his forehead to yours.

"I love you too."

9 months later

"Just one more push!"

The pain is unbelievably intense, but you have to keep going. Although it has been no more that an hour, it feels like you have been pushing for what feels like days. Erwin holds your hand tightly as your little princess makes her way into the world.

"Oh she's beautiful." He coos as the doctor passes you the tiny human.

"She really is." You can feel your eyes swell with tears. Happy ones.

As you look into her curious eyes, all of the pain and discomfort that you felt during labor goes out of the window. It was completely worth it. Erwin pecks the side of your cheek as he leans his head on your shoulder to take a good look at your baby girl. His giant blue eyes lock onto yours for a moment, and it feels just the same as the day you met.

You take a deep breath as you take in your surroundings, making sure to lock this moment in your memory before you doze off. Erwin's tending to the baby as she sputters the most adorable nonsense in her carrier. This is truly the happiest you've ever been, and you wouldn't trade this feeling for anything in the world.
