"Why?" I whispered out, my voice shaking as I stared down at you.
I didn't stop the pouring water that came from my eyes, not even daring to wipe it away from my face.
"After all this time, why?"
The rain pattered against my shoulders, the sound of deep thunder roaring in the distance.
I let out a small chuckle.
You were so crazy about the rain, the way the thunder rattled your bones.
Why were you so obsessed with it?
I always asked the same question when you would smile up to the sky, allowing the droplets of rain reach your skin.
Maybe it was because you felt connected to the thunder, maybe even jealous that it had its chance to scream and roar the pain away.
Are you thinking about it now? As I stand here, the storm closing in on me, are you enjoying this?
But maybe you are. Seeing me stand here, in front of your tombstone, your last words you said to me written in my mind, branded there forever.
Don't wait up for me, I'll see you soon...
