We prepared a plan, Nat would get into Pierce's office..posing as one of the council members while I stay with Nick and join later. I put on my white suit and fly in the helicopter with Nick.

We land down and walk in, Pierce looks at Nick in shock. "Did you get my flowers?" Nick looks at him coldly. "I'm glad you're here, Nick."

"Really? Cause I thought you had me killed." Nick says as I stand beside him with my pistol aimed at Pierce.

"You know how the game works." Pierce shrugs.

"So why make me head of Shield?"

"Cause you were the best and the most ruthless person I ever met." Pierce nods.

"I did what I did to protect people."

"Our enemies are your enemies, Nick. Disorder, war. It's just a matter of time before a dirty bomb goes off in Moscow, or an EMP fries Chicago. Diplomacy? Holding action, a band-aid. And you know where I learned that; Bogota. You didn't ask, you just did what had to be done. I can bring order to the lives of seven billion people by sacrificing twenty million. It's the next step, Nick, if you have the courage to take it."

"No, I have the courage not to." Nick takes Pierce to the retinal scanner while Nat and I point our guns at him.

"Retinal scanner active." The computer says.

"You don't you think we wiped your clearance from the system?"

"I know you erased my password, probably deleted my retinal scan, but if you want to stay ahead of me, Mr. Secretary..." Nick slides up his eyepatch. "You need to keep both eyes open."

They both look ahead, "Alpha Level confirmed. Encryption code accepted. Safeguards removed."

I look down at my phone, "Done. And it's trending."

Suddenly the other council members shake as a hole starts to burn into their chest, making them fall. Pierce looks at Nat, "Unless you want two inch hole in your sternum, I'd put your guns down."
The three of us don't move, "That was armed the moment you pinned it on." I don't move as Nat and Nick lower their guns. "Do you want your sister to die?" Pierce turns to me, "Down." He points. I stare over at Nat coldly and drop the gun. After a couple minutes, We look out as the carriers suddenly start to fire on each other, "What a waste." He sighs.

"Are you still on the fence about Rogers' chances?" I smirk

"Time to go, Councilwoman. This way, come on. You're gonna fly me out of here." Pierce says to Nat, making her walk.

"You know, there was a time I would have taken a bullet for you." Nick says.

"You already did. You will again when it's useful."

Suddenly Nat is shocked and collapses to the floor, Nick grabs his gun and shoots Pierce into the glass. "Romanoff! Natasha! Natasha, come on!" He kneels down.

I slide next to her, "Sissy?" I push back her hair as she slowly wakes up.

"Ow....Those really do sting." She groans. I chuckle as I help her up.

We hurry outside and into the helicopter, Nick starts to fly as Nat and I sit in the back. "Please, tell me you got that chopper in the air!" Sam suddenly yells.

"Sam, where are you?" I ask.

"41st floor, north-west corner!"

"We're on it, stay where you are." Nat yells.

"Not an option!"

I hold on as Nick flies around the building and suddenly tilts the helicopter, Sam falls in and breaks the door, almost falling out. I pull him up, "41st floor! 41st!" He screams.

"It's not like they put the floor numbers on the outside of the building!" Nick yells.

"Maria, where's Steve? You got a location on Rogers?" I ask.

"He...he was still on the last carrier." She says grimly.

"What?" I scream. I take off my headset and look at as we fly around by the carriers, after a couple minutes I see Steve being dragged in the water.

"Y/N? What are you doing?" I look back at Nat and dive out of the helicopter. I dive straight into the water and start to swim to the shore.

I catch a glimpse of a metal arm, but he was gone. "Steve!" I yell as I slide up next to him. "Come on...breathe!" I yell as I start to push on his chest. I lean down and start to do mouth-to-mouth. "Steve!" I yell in frustration as I push on his chest again. Steve suddenly coughs as I turn him to his side, I could see all his wounds now. "There you go....there you go."

After Shield fell, Nat and I were called to a meeting. It was kind of ridiculous.

"Why haven't we yet heard from Captain Rogers?" The committee General asks.

"I don't know what there is left left for him to say. I think the wreck in the middle of the Potomac made his point fairly eloquently." I shrug.

"Well, he could explain how this country's expected to maintain its national security now that he and you have laid waste to our intelligence apparatus."

"Hydra was selling you lies, not intelligence." I nod.

"Many of which you both seem to have had a personal hand in telling." The General says.

"Agents, you should know that there are some on this committee who feel, given your service record, both for this country and against it, that you both belong in a penitentiary, not mouthing off on Capitol Hill."

"You're not gonna put us in a prison. You're not gonna put any of us in a prison. You know why?" I ask, smirking.

"Do enlighten us."

"Because you need us. Yes, the world is a vulnerable place, and yes, we helped make it that way. But we're also the ones best qualified to defend it. So if you want to arrest us, arrest us. You'll know where to find us." I smile sweetly as we stand, walking out of the meeting. Nat nods at me as we walk out.

It was finally over.
