I walk behind Steve and beside Nat as we exit the Jet on Wakanda. "Seems like I'm always thanking you for something." Steve shakes hands with T'Challa.
Bruce bows awkwardly to T'Challa. "What are you doing?" Rhodey asks in shock.
"Uh, we don't do that here." He dissuades Bruce with a motion of his hand; Bruce shoots Rhodey a look, and is answered with a big grin. "So how big of an assault can we expect?"
"Uh, sir, I think you can expect quite a big assault." Bruce says.
"How we looking?" I ask.
"You will have my Kingsguard, the Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje, and..."
"A semi-stable, 100-year-old man." Bucky smiles, passing some Kingsguard taking Vision inside.
They both hug, "How you been, Buck?"
"Uh, not bad, for the end of the world." He shrugs.
I walk over to him and hug him as the others go inside, "Nice to see you, Bucky."
"You too, Y/N."
"I'm loving the look by the way." I point. "Like Jesus."
"Jesus, huh?" He smirks.
"Mhm."
"Alright, focus guys." Sam rolls his eyes.
"Aww...Sammy. Don't be jealous." I pout, making him roll his eyes again.
"You know if you keep rolling your eyes, they're gonna get stuck in the back of your head." Bucky points.
"God I-"
"Hate me? I know." Bucky smiles.
We look up as we hear a strange noise, suddenly there's an explosion from an alien ship hitting the shield. "Hey, Cap, we got a situation here." Sam says.
"God, I love this place." Bucky smiles
"Yeah, don't start celebrating yet, guys. We got more incoming outside the dome." Rhodey says as more ships land.
The shock waves and debris from the ship landings destroy acres of forest and boil up against the dome. I take my batons put and put them together into a staff and turn them on, walking with Bucky to the transports as everyone loads in.
We then get into our positions, waiting at Nat, Steve, and T'Challa. I lightly spin my staff as they walk back. "Did they surrender?" Bucky asks.
"Not exactly." Steve sighs.
The others chant around us, stopping as the Outrider aliens charge at the shields, "What the hell." Bucky frowns.
"Looks like we pissed her off."
The Outriders bombard the force-field, squeezing limbs and bodies partly through only to be killed. "They're killing themselves...."
As a few Outriders managed to squeeze through intact, the Border Tribe take a knee and raise their shields. The Kingsguard behind them level their sonic spears over their comrades' shoulders, and on T'Challa's command, fire at the approaching monsters. Bucky uses his machine gun, and Bruce fires the Hulkbuster's hand repulsors.
I watch as Rhodey fires explosives along the barrier. "Cap, if these things circle the perimeter and get in behind us... there's nothing between them and Vision." Bruce says as they try to run around.
"Then we better keep 'em in front of us." Steve says grimly.
"How do we do that?"
"We open the barrier." T'Challa says. He walks informs of us and activates his helmet, "WAKANDA FOREVER!!" He yells, running towards the barrier as it opens.
We charge behind him, Steve catches up to him and leaps into battle. I jump up and stab my staff down into the head of an Outrider, electrocuting him and take it out and smack it into another one.
I take out my pistol and shoot beside me, flipping back as one leaps at me. I electrocute it with my wrist guard and look aside to see Nat still fighting. I slide behind her and throw my knife into ones head, protecting her back as it all becomes too much.
We stop and look up as a rainbow light shines down. "Thor..." I smile. He was with....a tree and raccoon?
"BRING ME THANOS!" Thor flies up, lighting strikes as he slams down in a pack of Outriders.
I leap out of the way as giant wheels roll all over the battle field. Suddenly red power surrounds two and they slide down onto the ground next to me. I smile back at Wanda.
"Guys, we got a Vision situation here." Sam says, I look over to see he was tackled.
"Somebody get to Vision!" Steve yells.
"I got him!"
"On my way." I turn back to see Wanda was knocked down from the alien we saw in Scotland.
Nat, Okoye, and I stand above them, "He'll die alone. As will you."
"She's not alone." Nat smiles.
Okoye silently brandishes her spear on the other side of the alien and nods at Nat and I.
The alien leaps for me, I hold up my staff and block her blow with an electrical crackle while Okoye runs around the slope to also attack from the front. I kick her stomach and duck down as she tries to stab me. She eventually kicks Okoye and I back, getting Nat on the ground. Wanda uses her powers to make the alien rise and into an incoming spike. Her blue blood sprays onto Nat.
"That was really gross...."
She wipes off her face and follows me behind the palace. I run over to Steve as Bruce lands down, many others join us as a blue/black portal appears. "Everyone, on my position. We have incoming."
"What the hell?" I frown
Suddenly a large purple guys stones through, "Cap. That's him." Bruce says, confirming its Thanos.
"Eyes up. Stay sharp."
Bruce reaches Thanos first, lunging forward fist-first...but Thanos uses the Space Stone on him, renders him immaterial until the Hulkbuster is half-buried in the stone of the cliff behind him, and freezes Bruce in place.
Steve is sent flying by purple energy before he even gets to strike a single blow. T'Challa, armor fully charged kinetically, leaps high and with claws extended but is easily grabbed by the throat and punched to the ground, his armor discharging violently.
Sam stoops, shooting with both pistols, but falls when his wings become rubbery and unable to sustain flight. Rhodey joins the fight, firing his guns at Thanos until he uses the gauntlet to crush his armor around him and toss him aside. Bucky thennruns in firing, and is punched away by the Power Stone. Okoye activates the Vibranium-powered elements on her spear and flings it; Power stops it inches from Thanos, and throws her and it aside while wrapping the Nat in inescapable bands of earth.
I slide in from behind him and cut his leg, smacking his back with my staff and electrocuting him. Thanos turns and picks me up, he punches my chest and uses the Power stone to send me flying back. I hit a tree and slump down beside Sam.
I look down to see my leg was broken, Sam slowly crawls over to me and squeezes my hand. "Can't....breathe." I wheeze. I starts to cough, silently yelling out as I move my leg. My leg was completely snapped.
"It's gonna be okay....it's okay." Sam whispers.
I look up at him and raise my hand up to his face, softly stroking his cheek. I frown as my hand suddenly passes through his face as he fades away. "Sammy?" I clutch onto my chest as it hurts to talk. I start to cry as he completely fades away, "Sammy?"
"Sam!" Rhdoey yells. "Sam!" He stops and kneels down to me.
"He was...here. He's gone." I try to breathe.
Rhodey looks down at my leg and carefully picks me up, I cry out as he carries me over to Steve.
Steve looks up and immediately takes me in his arms, "What is this? What the hell is happening?" Rhdoey asks.
"Oh, God."
