What happens after Loki goes through another betrayal and ends up away from everything that is now so familiar to him? Perhaps not exactly everything, there is one constant from his past that he catches up with again and just in time when he's needed most. I hope that this fic helps to heal some of you, it was certainly therapeutic for me to write it. As I gradually get back into writing more, I hope to make my works longer but it's been awhile and this is what I could come up with for now. Enjoy and let me know what you think :)

Loki hurtled through the time door and came tumbling down onto the ground; practically doing a somersault in the process. His heart ached greatly and he'd never felt as betrayed as he did right now; maybe his past trauma with his father came real close but that wasn't important right now. He had thought someone who understood him had trusted him but that was apparently not the case and it cut his already fragile soul up like a dagger. Tears welled up in his baby blues and he sat there in the very spot he had crashed landed, taking a moment to allow himself to feel the emotional pain he was now experiencing. He was never to be trusted, always meant to be alone; not having a friend in the world. He was wrong though, he did have one friend—Mobius, who Loki hoped was okay and that Renslayer didn't do anything to him upon the analyst's return from the void. The god had looked around at his surroundings and realized that he was nowhere near the TVA but instead in somewhat familiar territory, appearing to be Midgard. It was Midgard but not the same one he'd once known from 2012 and earlier. Something was very different about this version of Midgard. It was practically vacant and seemed very grim, a good indicator that something horrible had taken place here. Loki just wasn't sure what that event was; not yet anyways, that was something he vowed to figure out. No matter how long it took him.

Loki pinched his eyes closed, letting his tears roll down his cheeks and then fluttered his eyes open, exhaling a soft sigh. It was at that moment that he knew exactly what he needed to do. He had to rise up again from this pain otherwise he knew that he could go back to the person he was before he took this journey through the timeline; or god forbid that all of this personal growth would be in vain. 'I'm stronger than I realize,' he told himself, pepping himself up for whatever he was to face next. He knew this to be true as he had gone through so much trauma in his lonesome and had survived, this hurt, the betrayal was simply another one of those things. A test of his emotional and mental strength. Loki rose back up onto his feet and took a deep breath in, slowly exhaling it before heading off to the east of where he was; something that his gut instinct told him to do, it just seemed so right to him for unknown reasons.

As he walked further away from the initial landing spot, there was hardly anyone around-human and animal alike. So many questions plagued the god's mind. What exactly had happened here on this timeline? Did the Avengers exist here or did something happen to them? If so, who defeated them? A feeling of unease sat in the pit of his stomach as those and several other thoughts pondered within him. Perhaps it was best to not know the answer but Loki was curious now and needed answers; maybe he could stop feeling so queasy if he found some form of clarity. So he kept walking, for as long as his long legs would allow him to go. Even pushing himself to go further, determined to find a friendly face who would be willing to talk to him and hopefully provide him with some information-at least as much as he could get out of them.

On his journey through these scarce lands, he had eventually found someone who had only stopped to answer one of the few questions he had uttered from his lips. The young lady wasn't overly keen on discussing the past events that had brought nothing but pain, depression and despair across the entire universe-let alone providing her name, which Loki didn't mind as that wasn't his main intention. It was clear that she had lost someone close to her and didn't want that obviously fresh wound to open up again, though she did answer Loki when he asked her where exactly in Midgard he was and when he was; Tǿnsberg,Norway, 2023.
