Eric x Reader

Growing up

First words:

"Come on baby say Mummy. Mum-my." I turn bouncing Maia in my arms as she giggles one hand clutching her favorite blanket tightly. Eric walks into the apartment and she wiggles around reaching out for him "Da." he grins "Da." I hand her to him kissing his cheek "How was your meeting?" He frowns "Erudite wants to join forces with us to create a more unified group but we declined, they wanted to do some form of testing and we wanted nothing to do with it." I nod slightly "Ma." Eric laughs "That's right, that's mummy."

Maia waves her little fists around giggling "No." we both freeze "No?" she giggles "No, no, no." I laugh "Well I wasn't expecting that to be your first word." her fist collides with Eric's face "No, no, no, no." he sighs handing her back to me "Ma..Mu..MooMoo" I laugh "MooMoo? Mummy?" she laughs starting to kick her legs about. "No."

Laughing I crouch down putting her in her play pen where she starts picking up her stuffed animals and throwing them. "Well she certainly has spirit." I laugh turning to give Eric a proper kiss as Maia continues her chant of "No." while rolling onto her front crawling around.

First steps:

Eric sits opposite me on the floor both of us with our legs spread wide so Maia has a straight path to walk "Come on baby, show daddy what you did earlier." using my arm she pushes herself upright and takes a step forward before toppling sideways into my waiting hands. "Try again baby." pushing her self up again she takes two steps this time before stopping and plonking down on the floor.

Eric reaches out with his hands and she stands once more taking a few more steps before falling into them giggling. "Good job little one, your learning fast."

First I love you:

"Maia, come on its bed time." she pouts putting another block on her tower "No." I crouch next to her "I'll read you a story?" she looks up with wide eyes "Story?" I laugh "Any story you want." she pushes herself up and I sweep her up in my arms carrying her through and tucking her into bed "Story." I nod picking up her current favorite book and starting to read. I get halfway through before her eyes start to flutter close.

"I think we'll finish it tomorrow." she pouts yawning "Not tired though." I stand kissing her forehead "Of course not baby, I love you." she yawns again "Love you too mummy." I leave pulling the door to and beaming. Eric walks over "What?" I sigh wrapping my arms around his neck "She said I love you and I just it made me feel really happy." he chuckles "For the record I love you too."

First day of school:

"Do I have to go?" I nod "Yes." she pouts "But I don't feel well." I sigh and pick her up sitting her on my hip "Baby I know its scary, but I promise your going to love it. You'll meet lots of new friends and Lucy will be there with you." she nods and Eric pulls us into a family hug "Dad your kinda squishing me." laughing I put her down and kiss her forehead "Just remember, be yourself." she nods and pulls her jacket and bag on "Okay, bye mum, bye dad. Love you." 

She leaves and I lean back into Eric who's arms snake around my waist "She's going to be fine." I nod "I know, I'm just worried she'll get into trouble. You taught her self defense and all." he shrugs "So what, as long as she is happy and doesn't get hurt she can get into all the trouble she wants." I laugh "That's not very good parenting." he chuckles kissing my cheek "She'll be just fine, I promise."
