**PROLOGUE**

'You what?!' I shouted staring at my mother in complete shock.

she just stood there a grim expression on her face as if resigned to my reaction.

'But Mum you can't!' i whined putting the most pityful look I could on my face begging her to change her mind.

'You're going and thats that!' she said determination written in every line on her face and the set of her shoulders, it looked like she was serious!

I whimpered tears welling up...my last line of warfare...tears always got me what I  wanted.

Mums jaw set and she glared down at me 'Don't even try it missy! I gave birth to you and have nurtured you for 16 whole years, don't you think I know you by now! Those are the fakest tears I ever did see'

*No these are not* I thought to myself brushing the tears I'd managed to squeeze out off my cheeks... *The fakest ones you ever saw were last month when...* I blanked that thought out mum always seemed to know what I was thinking.

Finally I sighed and glared at her 'But why? What have I done that you don't want me anymore?!' I shouted not able to believe this! I hadn't even seen it coming.

'Lizzy Marie Wilde! DON'T YOU EVER THINK I DON'T WANT YOU!' She shouted tears actually appearing in her eyes. 'Your father and I agreed when we divorced that you would stay with me until your sixteenth birthday...I never believed he would truly take you away from me once you reached sixteen! I hoped he'd have given up on the idea'

'Oh Mum please please don't cry' I said my own eyes filling with tears, real ones this time 'I hate him! I hate him so much! Why would he take me away from you the only parent i've ever known!' I stressed the last coming out on a growl.

'The court agree's with him I signed the papers I just wanted to get away...I'm...I'm...so so sorry honey...' she said her breath hitching on her sobs.

'But I've never even met the man...All I have is that picture you gave me when I was six!' I said totally in shock unable to believe that this was actually happening to me.

'Oh baby girl...I wish it were different' she said complete dispair in her tone.

I knew I had to be strong I'd always been the strong one for her...'I know mum its ok, I'll deal I'm sure everything will be fine and we'll email every day and call and skype!' I said hugging her tightly.

I could see the relief flood her eyes 'If you don't like it you let me know and I'll be right there for you ok baby? I don't care what the agreement says I will come for you'

I leaned in and hugged her tightly 'I know mum your the best! When do I have to go?' I asked taking a deep breath.

'Tonight...'

'WHAT!' I shouted in total shock

'I waited until the last minute i'm sorry I just hoped that it wouldn't happen I had the best of lawyers look over the contract and theres no way we can get out of it' she hugged me to her tightly.

'Mum I can't breathe!' I said when I was able to squeeze out a breath.

'I packed whilst you were at school' she said pointing to the 3 suitcases sitting by the door. It made my heart ache to think I was leaving the only home I ever knew and in that moment I resolved to fight as much as I could to get my mum back.

I ran up stairs and stared at my room for the last time, the closet was empty, walls bare, vanity a vast white nothing. I sat on my bed hugged my pillow to my chest and sobbed...

*Well Lizzy Marie...this is the start of a whole new chapter of your life...you always said you wanted adventure...YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN BLOODY CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISHED FOR!*
