*Part 7*

It was 5 in the morning when my pager went of, I looked at it and it said Meredith Grey.
I got dressed and drove to the hospital.

Y/N Anderson: Doctor Grey?
Meredith Grey: I'm sorry to page you this early but I thought you wanted to know this..
Y/N Anderson: What's wrong?
Meredith Grey: She has a slight fever, Deluca is doing her labs to make sure it isn't a infection..
Y/N Anderson: Am I allowed in the room?
Meredith Grey: With the right protection you are, she's been waiting for you..
Y/N Anderson: Thank you for paging..
Meredith Grey: It's the least I can do Y/N, now go be with your daughter!

I desinfected my hands and put on the gown, mask and gloves.

Vanessa Anderson: Mom..
Y/N Anderson: Hi honey, I came as soon as I could..
Vanessa Anderson: Why do I have a fever?
Y/N Anderson: We'll know once we get your labs back.
Vanessa Anderson: I'm tired..
Y/N Anderson: You can sleep baby, it's okay.

Vanessa reached out to for my hand and I gave it to her.
I've been sitting here for 2 hours now and Amelia entered the room.

Y/N Anderson: Amelia what are you doing here?
Amelia Shepherd: Meredith asked me to check up on you since you've been here quite a while.
Y/N Anderson: I'm just hoping she doesn't have an infection..
Amelia Shepherd: How about we get a distraction for you?
Y/N Anderson: What do you have in mind?
Amelia Shepherd: We can look at the board, maybe there's a surgery going on!

She reached her hand out and pulled me out of the chair, we walked to the OR-board and saw no special surgery on the board but Maggie was doing one right now so we made our way to the gallery of OR 1.
Amelia turned on the intercom and turned the mic on.

Amelia Shepherd: Magster how are you doing!
Maggie Pierce: Amelia I thought you were still sleeping!
Amelia Shepherd: I uh was- Meredith paged me to keep this one company!
Y/N Anderson: So Maggie what are you doing?
Maggie Pierce: Just placing a stent, hows Vanessa?
Y/N Anderson: Vanessa's sleeping right now, I'm waiting for her labs..
Maggie Pierce: Why waiting?
Amelia Shepherd: Didn't Meredith tell you, she had a fever all night-
Y/N Anderson: All night, she had a fever all night?!
Maggie Pierce: Meredith's gonna kill you Amelia!
Y/N Anderson: I'm going back.
Amelia Shepherd: No Y/N wait-

I already walked out, on my way to the NICU to look at cute babies.
In New York I would always 'predict' their future by their name and knowing I still needed to wait a while until I could talk to doctor Grey.

Arizona Robbins: What are we doing?
Y/N Anderson: Guessing their future based on their name..
Arizona Robbins: Fun! How do you picture her future?
Y/N Anderson: Rose.. She's gonna have a pretty rough time in highschool but will find her way, goes to lawschool and becomes one of the best lawyers America has ever seen..
Arizona Robbins: Is everything alright with Vanessa, you seem sad?
Y/N Anderson: It's probably nothing..
Arizona Robbins: You are in the Grey+Sloan family so please just tell me, I won't judge..
Y/N Anderson: It's really nothing, Vanessa juqt might have an infection..
Arizona Robbins: Then something else is bothering you, you can tell me Y/N..
Y/N Anderson: Can we just look at babies?
Arizona Robbins: Of course, tell me when you're ready..

We've been standing there for quite a while when I got paged, I got to Vanessa's room and saw Meredith inside without any of the protection.

Meredith Grey: Good news, she doesn't have an infection!
Y/N Anderson: Then what is it?
Meredith Grey: I'll have Deluca take her for some scans!
Y/N Anderson: Thank you doctor Grey.. Why didn't you tell me she had a fever all night?
Meredith Grey: I didn't want to worry you more then you alread did.

She left the room and I looked at Vanessa who was still sound asleep, I walked out and found an empty on-call room.
I sat on the bed and felt tears roll down my cheeks, I guess this is the first time I cried for what happend to Vanessa and will hopefully be the last.
I was looking at the ground that I didn't anyone come in the on-call room, I felt arms around me.

Amelia Shepherd: Y/N I'm sorry, I didn't know you-
Y/N Anderson: Amelia don't, I just want to be-

I felt her lips on mine and immediatly pushed back.
I looked at her not knowing what to say because I was processing what just happend.

Amelia Shepherd: I'm sorry Y/N-
Y/N Anderson: Just don't Amelia.

I got up and left, I literally left the hospital and ran into Callie on the parking lot.

Calliope Torres: Y/N what happend?!

She stopped me but I pointed to my car, she understood what I meant and followed me.
In New York we would always sit in the back of my car and talk, not really gossiping but talking about random things.

Calliope Torres: Y/N what ha-
Y/N Anderson: Amelia kissed me.
Calliope Torres: Amelia did what?!
Y/N Anderson: I was in an on-call room crying apperently, she tried to comfort me but when I tried to explain I needed to be alone she kissed me..
Calliope Torres: So what do you want now?
Y/N Anderson: I want this to be over..
Calliope Torres: If you want to go home I'll stay with Vanessa!
Y/N Anderson: I am not going home, i-i don't know what I'm gonna do..
Calliope Torres: Let's walk around the hospital and see if we can do anything.

We walked to the orthopedic-wing and saw Link.

Calliope Torres: Hey you the new ortho guy?
Atticus Lincoln: I am, Link pleasure meeting you!
Calliope Torres: Do you have anything valuable in your castroom?

As Callie stood in front of me I shook my head so Link would say no.

Atticus Lincoln: I don't have any casts for you..
Calliope Torres: I know you do so don't lie or I'll-
Y/N Anderson: Calliope that is enough let's go!
Calliope Torres: I'm not done with you!
Y/N Anderson: That's enough Callie!

I pull Calliope with me as I try to leave, I quickly mouth 'I'm sorry' to Link who just nodded.
I pulled Callie in an on-call room.

Y/N Anderson: Callie I don't need to smash casts because I'm worried about Vanessa.
Calliope Torres: I don't want you to have a meltdown Y/N, you always keep your feeling to yourself which I get I totally do because I do the same, but in situations like these you have to be an open book!
Y/N Anderson: I don't need to be treated like I'm some little kid Callie!
Calliope Torres: You know what fine.

Callie stormed out of the on-call room while I just waited until she was gone. About 5 minutes later I'd figured she was gone so I went to Vanessa's room and grabbed a post-it.

Hey Nessa

I'm going to clear my mind and you'll be the only one knowing where I am (not even Callie knows where I am and I'd like to keep it that way)
I'll be hiking and off the grid, text you when I'm done!

Love you <3

I left the note in a place I knew only she would check and went home, got changed and got back in my car on my way to the hiking path.
When I got there I checked my phone one last time, it was 4PM.
I put my phone away and got out of my car to start the hike, being surrounded by nature always helped getting my mind to ease.
